I tried to hide my vehicles behind cover thinking I could use the save to increase their odds of survival.

Round 1

With the capture of the Chapter Master and his honor guard, I have regrouped with more of my forces on this filthy ball of mud, and continued the trek evacuate to our vassal, which has been forced to our Maneuver a silly imperial fleet. If we are stopped, I will find my self stranded world. That will not come to pass! The surviving Space Marines of the Imperium are in hot pursuit, and seem ready to die for their enslaved Chapter Master. I hear the religious leader wants to have me crucified for the desecration of the emperor's chapter master. I welcome his attempts.

Space Marines

The Predator advances and fires it twin linked las cannon into my ravager, I fail my cover save and it promptly exploded. The Devastator squad which is atop the ruined building fires into my raider which is carrying my Kabalite warrior squad. The Kabalite warriors pass pinning, but are nearly wiped out when the whirlwind lands a direct hit on their formations, and the scout squads brings them down to two individules, Warriors pass pinning test. The assault marines move towards the plateau. My opponent is making it obvious he intends to maintain his static position, this leaves me with no choice but to try to bring the real fight to him

Dark Eldar Turn

With two vehicles wiped out I advance the remaining raiders. My Wych raider advances moving flat out, My Raider holding my Haemonculus advances, and unloads him. The Haemonculus then deploys the web way portal.

The field looks like this at the end of round one

Round 2

Space Marine Turn

The deployment of my web way gate sees the space marines scatter. Terminators reel backwards, and the Assault Marines jump to behind the Plateau. All other units of the marines remain static. The scouts fire into my Haemonculus, but fail to kill him due to feel no pain saves. Tacticle squad fires into the Haemonculus, and miss many shots,(Including a las cannon shot) The Predator fires on to my wych raider blowing it up due to a failed cover save of 4+. The devastator squad fires onto the raider that is close to the plateau, stunning the crew. Snipers fire into the wychs, killing more after the explosion and pinning them. Whirlwind fires on to the pinned wyches, and misses completely.

Dark Eldar turn

I roll for reserves, but only my Wych squad arrives. The immediately rush forward from the web way gate and assault the Predator, wrecking it in the end. I now have two haemonculi on the field, and they advance firing liquefier guns into the tactical squad in the small ruins. One is in range, and I roll a 1 for AP. I kill two marines with the attack.

The end of turn two had the battle field looking like this:

Round 3

Space Marines.

My foe maintains his static line, and fires shots with his tactical squad into the wyches that destroyed his predator. They kill three wyches, and I take a moral check which they pass. Terminators do not have sight on the wyches and remain still. Snipers + whirl wind fire into my pinned wychs once more, the whirlwind misses again, the snipers score one kill, I take a pinning test and pass. Devastator squad fires into my last raider, shaking the crew again.

Dark Eldar Turn

I roll for researves. Hellions, Sahosha's squad, and Harlequins all arrive with the reavers hanging out in the webway. My Kabalite warriors move away, so as not to give my enemy another kill point. Harlequins move into the ruins and assault the scout squad, they lock up having won the combat. Wyches and haemonculi assault the tactical squad. Their luck is much less, they loose combat and the wych squad and one haemonculus breaks away. Sahosha merely runs into the safety of the ruined building. I advance my now unpinned wych squad.

At the end of turn three the field looks like this:

Round 4

Space Marine Turn

With the my heavy hitters on the field my opponent seems to become alert as to what might happen. He advances his terminators slightly, so they may shoot. The devistator squad fires into my last raider and surprisingly misses. The Stern-guard advance, and fire into Sahosha's squad, causing few casualties, but enough to warrent a leader ship check, which I pass. Whirlwind can not fire into the squads that are so close. Assault squad leaps out and finishes off my fleeing wych squad. Assault ends with the tactical squad finishing on of my haemonculi. Harlequins finish off Telion in assault.

Dark Eldar Turn

I have cut into my opponent and can not stop now. I advance Sahosha deeper into the ruins, and the small wych squad, fires into the Whirlwind with a blast pistol wrecking it. My Harlequins assault the devastator squad, and slaughter them out right, ending with my consolidation. My Last Haemonculi fires his liquefier gun into the assault marines getting an AP 2, and manages to kill three of them. He can not regroup and continues moving back.

At the end of Round 4, the field looked like this:

The arrival of the Harlequin troupe came to be a surprise to me. They leap from our web way gate, and into the Space Marines with a blurr that almost rivals my own speed...almost. I only wish I could have recorded the death cries of those unfortunate humans. The memory of it should serve to keep me smiling for a few evenings.

Round 5

Space marine turn

The loss of those vehicles have hurt them and helped me. But the Stern-Guard advance and fire into my unpinned wych squad, killing another. He then assaults them, with the wyches loosing all but the Hekatrix, and managing to kill FOUR Stern-guard.This results in the Stern Guard failing three more saves, causing a death count of 7 stern-guard. Go Wyches and dumb luck!. The Terminators and Chaplian advance and try to kill Sahosha's squad. Only Sahosha and the Syren make it out of those ruins alive. Assault Marines finish off the Haemonculus. Tactical squad holds position.

Dark Eldar Turn.

Harlequins and Sahosha leap from out of the building and seemingly dash with glee towards the Terminators and the Chaplin. If I can be lucky enough to get into assault with this squad, I may actually win this battle. Both Squads make it into assault(Thank ya fleet of foot god!) and bring the Terminators down to two men, plus the Chaplin. The space marine hit results in one harlequin casualty. My Reavers automatically come in, and run over the tactical squad, killing on unfortunate marine.

The end of turn five looks like this:

Turn Six

My Opponent is quite upset that his Terminators and Chaplin are easily bested. Worst still his Stern-guard have failed to route such a small force of wyches. The Assault marines dash towards my Kabalite warriors in a desperate bid to kill my Kabalite warriors. The Chaplin is defeated in melee, Sahosha and the Harlequins immediately move on towards the building, to try and stop the stern-guard. My Wyches inflict no harm on the stern Guard, but take another casualty, resulting in a leadership check which I pass. Tacticle squad moves away, my enemy hoping to save them from dying. They shoot into my Reavers, and kill all but one. I pass my Morale check.

Dark Eldar Turn

I quietly move my HQ and my Harlequins into the ruins, and make them go to ground, in case Turn 7 comes. My Two wyches facing the stern guard, survive another round, keeping them locked up, but inflicting no harm(Gotta love feel no pain). and I turbo boast my last reaver away.

End of turn six looked like this:

We roll for another turn, and we do not go to turn 7

Killpoints

Space Marines: 6

Dark Eldar: 8(3 for killing the HQ)

With much satisfaction I managed to turn the bold Space Marine Chaplain into a bumbling hulk of metal and curses. His damaged body was hauled into the ruins by the Harlequins, and I watched with much delight as they stripped him of his armor, and began extracting his gene-seed. What ever they wanted with that pile of filth is beyond my musings. But his curses of agony have brought my body back to a time when I was almost a child. I think I will keep his broke form as a trophy...just in view of the Chapter Master's cage. This will remind him of what happens to those to face me in battle.

Nice report. I'm surprised they allowed the webway carriers transport to survive the first turn. Was it out of LOS?

The ultrasmurfs burn again. Nice plays by DE, fail by ultras. Who plays the smurfs anyway.

I mean no offense to ultramarines in any way. I will now make fun of BA and space wolves to make it even.

To be fair my opponent was trying to do what he did the last game and sit static, while he mowed my troops down. It blunted my offensive. Clearly he was counting on his heavy armor to win the battle for him.

Tactically he is a good player, but it is apparent that he was underestimating the Dark Eldar(Something anybody who has not played them may be guilty of.

And he did kill three of my vehicles, two HQs, and a squad.

Really, I will say, I got very lucky, had he not gotten greedy and moved his Terminator squad, he may have won.
