Ok, so i have got over christmas, have now moved house and am getting ready to unpack, including setting up my hobby painting table and general relaxing area (gonna need it - wedding in april - Baby due in June) keep getting told i won't have time for any of this hobby but i'm sure you'll all agree, where there's a will, there's a way!!

Been reading up on the History of the great race known by us al as the 'nids, Tyranids. I have models that i started painting a little while ago, the standard purple colours that most nids get painted, but i want mine to look rather different, as if something else in the galaxy had an effect on them.

Where most Hive fleets have been discovered devouring their way through space and the imperium of man, i had thoughts about a fleet that had taken a new turn.

Here is my fleet

Hive Fleet Excalibur

Cardinal Miriamulus the Eldar of planet Thracian Primaris recorded a chaos-like invasion, that turned out to have been a tyranid swarm. Code named Ouroboris. This was before the main hive fleets were named.
Part of the Hive Ouroboris was lost in the planet fall, a Leviathan Hive ship fell fowl of the warp and drifted through uncharted space. It ended up crashed on a tomb world thought to have been one of the first Necrontyr inhabited planets. This planet is still in a state of suspension as far as necrons are concerned, however the Survivors from ouroboris have been inhabiting the mainlands and devouring all planetary resources, and keeping away from the large tombs.

For 1,000,s of years the Tyranids have been evolving to their surroundings, and harvesting raw ingredients to get the Leviathan back off the ground, so they may return to the world of the living, where they can devour worlds..

My tyranid brood is gonna have a new colour scheme, I'm still in a major designing phase with the ideas waiting to come out, getting my table sorted in the next few days hoefully so want to be able to get started.

Here is my thoughts on my colour scheme

Skin: Necron abyss

Carapice: Tin Bits

Guns: Boltgun metal

Obviously i will work on these colours with shading and highlights but they are just a general thought, i like the idea of the nids having evolved stuck on the necron world and them having adapted their shading and colours totally changed in order to stalk around the tomb worlds.

C+C welcome
