Hey guys,
So I'm going to start a SW Drop Pod army, and was wondering what units you think would go well with a drop-pod assault for SW.
I'll be getting the Battleforce and already have Bjorn.
Any help is wanted.
Thanks,
Chowderhead

You have good psychic powers, and regular troops with both boltguns AND pistols/CCW, along with some mean close combat goodies.
Play them like a CSM army and you should be fine.
... well, in your case, play them like a CSM army if CSM had access to drop pods.

Well there's an article in my sig which may help, otherwise it's worth remembering with Space Wolves that if you use Wolf Guard as pack Leaders then they become scoring, allowing you some scoring Terminators which I'd thoroughly advise for your Drop-pod assault army.
Otherwise, Dreadnoughts, Stern-Guard-esc. Wolf Guard and lots of Grey Hunters are your best bets with Rune Priests being the strongest HQ's.
A drop-pod army isn't the strongest or most reliable of routes but it's certainly thematic and I applaud you for that, particularly for not going the Razorback/Long Fang route.
Also, Logan Grimnar is very expensive and it's fairly gimmicky, but he can make relentless Long Fangs, allowing them to shoot on arrival.
Otherwise, I'd recommend a solid core of Grey Hunters led by combi-weapon terminators and supported by Dreadnoughts, packs of Wolf Guard or scouts and a Rune Priest or two.
Oh and once again, the article in my sig should be worth a read if I do say so myself.
Good Luck Chowder! Automatically Appended Next Post: Also, you can easily make HQ units using the Battleforce:
There's a 'standard' that's eagle shaped which can make a good Crozius if added to the Power Sword arm. Suitable for Wolf Priests.
Also, adding couple of the small wolf skulls to the base of the power sword blade can add some definition. Good for Rune Priests or Lords.
Give them a good base, raise the arm up high and you're good to go.

"As I recall, your face was tortured. Imagine that - the Master of the Wolves, his ferocity twisted into grief. And yet you still carried out your duty. You always did what was asked of you. So loyal. So tenacious. Truly you were the attack dog of the Emperor. You took no pleasure in what you did. I knew that then, and I know it now. But all things change, my brother. I'm not the same as I was, and you're... well, let us not mention where you are now."

Well, you should know you can't put Bjorn in a drop pod. That certainly but a dampener on my plans for a SW drop pod army.

The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy My brothers. And you will know My name is the Lord when I lay My vengeance upon thee. |

An undivided CSM army with drop pods, Counterattack, Acute Senses, and is about 8-15% cheaper per unit after upgrades and whatnot.

The correct pronunciation is Imperial Guard and Stormtroopers, "Astra Militarum" and "Tempestus Scions" are something you'll find at Hogwarts. |
