If you mean dark heresy, my vote is both... which i'm about to get back into started out in DH, Worked our way up to rogue trader, and now my character has been accepted into the space wolves and so we'll be using all 3. It really depends on what you want to play. DH was full of investigations and intrigue. But combat was... dangerous. very dangerous. you attacked from ambush, or got the hell away from the fight if you could (not my character though...) Rogue trader upped the power lvl and made combat a bit more survivable, but barely. We starting using our cover as a rogue trader more so less investigation and more trading. still lots of intrigue. Deathwatch... oh am i looking forward to playing that

If by "inquisitors" do you mean Dark Heresy or the old Inquisitor game that GW made? Personally I feel it depends on what your after in your RPG's. None of them are superior to the others I feel. As they all offer something different. Dark Heresy for instance involves more non combat activities and subtlety. Investigating, researching, following up leads, deciphering puzzles/clues etc. The field is way open for all sorts of possibilities depending on how in depth your group wants to roleplay their characters. With fights intended to be few and when they happen intense. Rogue trader steps the starting power of player characters up a little but has an interesting mix of roleplay elements of managing a rogue trader's business interest's along with forging into new frontiers of space along with combat. Deathwatch from what I have read of it seems definitely more action based. With still higher starting power levels for characters ( They are space marines after all ) with lots of action and the like. But still offering a group to explore their characters personalities if they are so minded.

So yeah. If you want tension, depth and scope I'd go for Dark heresy. More action go for deathwatch. For a fun in between mix and the randomness the life of a rogue trader ship can bring then choose that.
