Hi guys and gals, I've recently being playing around with magnets and have converted the old term capt to wield an assault cannon, trouble is he still also has his power sword. I was going to use him as a Sgt for one of my squads but I just want to check if I could legally use him if I didn't take the squads normal hvy weapon. Technically the squad load out doesn't change.

The rules do say that one terminator can equip an assault weapon, am I right in assuming that this just applies to the standard troops though.

Play Space Wolves PW+Ass cannon are valid there.

But a terminator sgt is not the same as a terminator; the Terminator Squad unit is made up of 2 different models types: terminators and a Terminator Sgt; only the terminators can get the Weapon upgrades.

This is my Rulebook. There are many Like it, but this one is mine. Without me, my rulebook is useless. Without my rulebook, I am useless.
Stop looking for buzz words and start reading the whole sentences.

You are correct, he cannot take it. If you look at the assault terminators under it, it says "any model" with their options. Otherwise you could take a sergeant with a power fist and lascannon in a tac squad as it uses the same wording.

Yeah true. I didn't think you could just because it meant you could take the squad down to one man and still be left facing a heavy and a PW. Not lawyering just trying to make a cool model. Its no biggy anyway as I have a storm bolter magnetised for him too.

Thanks for the quick responses guys and the clarification.
