Would you more likely attend a multi-day GT event on a 3 day holiday weekend or a typical 2 day weekend?

To clarify the hypothetical event itself would only be 2 days (with likely open gaming on Friday) regardless of whether it was held on a holiday weekend or standard weekend.

The question is being asked to determine if people are more likely to travel to a 40k tourney on a holiday weekend or on a typical weekend.

Depends on the holiday, if it's a relatively un-celebrated holiday then the 3 day weekend makes travel easier. If not, the major holidays typically make it harder due to family/personal commitments. Might want to be a bit more specific, it would probably improve the results

Getting my broom incase there is shenanigans.

Also another factor is travel.

My hypothesis is:

Most people only attend local events/GTs, so in that case they prefer a 2 day GT so they can do holiday things on holidays.

Those that are more inclined to travel prefer a 3-day weekend so they have travel time factored in.

So my question would be, if you are going to travel 200+ miles for a GT, would you be more likely to attend it on a 2-day or a 3-day weekend?

I think you hit it exactly right Blackmoor. The fact that everyone is only doing 2 day events is one reason I have stoped traveling to tournaments. I would rather play longer on Saturday and have Sunday free to do other things, and major holiday stuff is taken by family and friend stuff a lot.

The 3 dayer. Gives you time to decompress before having to hit the grinder again.
She Who Must Be Obeyed also makes me take Fridays off and travel to the event so I get a good nights rest and breakfast so i'm fresh and ready for day one.
She's a keeper.

Life isn't fair. But wouldn't it be worse if Life were fair, and all of the really terrible things that happen to us were because we deserved them?

I like both!

But I go to every tournament I can, so I don't think that counts.
