Hey wondering if anyone out there has some pics or ideas on how to convert this Abadon into something more fitting of his stature.

I've seen someone use the Chaos Terminator lord as a base, then giving it the Metal DP's sword, his normal head and Talon of Horus. looked pretty badass imo.

You can't, and it could be hard now to come by them considering they released the plastic Daemon Prince.

Although some bit's stores might have it. You could even use his own sword if you had too.

Out of my mind, back in 5 minutes.

Check ebay for out of print models. I'm sure you could find a metal daemon prince kit.

I have the metal demon prince sword and its huge compared to a termi

it would definitely look anime awkward, its probably taller than the model will be, I would definitely keep abaddons sword.

They seemed to have opted to keep the metal DP for now. Also I remember someone making the conversion. I'll see if I can find it.

Hogs of War Conversion of Abaddon with Daemon Sword. There's a better one where they actually uses his claw and head, but I cant find it.

Also, found a few pics of people using Archaeon's sword, as well as Bloodletter swords. All of which look sufficiently chaotic for the Daemonblade.

Thanks for those. I like the sword it dosnt look to diffrent from the one he has but i will look into some of the others you posted. That model is just like the brood lord model for me i just have never liked the abaddon model and way i look at it. I loved the, i think cHoas termi Sorceror Model maybe i can take it from that direction. or heck maybe just use the Horus model and flip that a little

You're not alone on that one. What an... unfortunate model for such a prominent character.

Looks amazing. I might actually do this myself.

Here's what I did. Take this model. Eww.

And do simple conversions here and there. The top knot has to go. I went sword down instead of up. I went hand up instead of down. Used pliers to move the claws around. Used pliers to bend the shoulder spikes into a more twisted kind of rack. Cut off the lower jaw and GS some teeth in (had a buddy help me there). You like?

You can still buy the old metal DP from GW, well you could when I was browsing last week.

That's a great conversion Bizmo. Very simple but very effective.

I really dig the spike rack, Bizmo. Lovely.

Nice!

I really like some of these; Molotov's from the other thread is particularly impressive.

With mine I just clipped the topknot, left off the spike racks (I also leave them off my regular terminators), and painted him in my bleached bone color scheme. Oh, and put him on a resin scenic base from the GW basing kit, which adds a little extra height. Have to upload some pics at some point...

I don't understand why so many other special characters have got new sculpts but Abaddon hasn't. It was a really big impressive figure back when released but that was aaaages ago. I got my Abaddon half price when GW had a big sale to clear all their stock that still contained lead. There are people on this forum who weren't even born when I had that figure.

He must be one of the oldest figures still being sold in the shops. Sad.

Yeah a new Abaddon would rock.

But in the mean time I'm sure making him from the Termie Lord is enough,or just adding his arms and head to the body and legs.

I used the Termie Lord as a base, and just swapped in Abby's talon, sword and trophy racks. I'll try to get some pictures, but no guarantee as work is kinda crazy right now.

Uploaded some of my WIP pics of Abaddon, and one of him in an epic (non-painted ) battle.
