Hi All

Since before christmas i've been runnig quite a lot fluffy fun list consisting heavily on all infantry platoons, power blobs and and very few if any vehicles. Although I enjoy running these lists I don't tend to win much (don't think I have the tactical sense to use them really well) and i'm starting to worry that people at my gaming group consider them a bit of a joke.

So this is just to test if I can actually still write a normal list, however please note there is a heavy emphasis on anti MEQ as the majority of people at the store seem to be fielding them. Everything has what it actually is in () after my fluff names.

It's not a joke man, but now i have more tin cans to pop.
I'll give a game next 40K night, or maybe next thursday if you can get in before 6 and have enough time to have a game.

Very solid list. I personally would tweak it just a bit.

CCS- drop the medic, change him out for another plasma gun. If you want a Plasma Pistol as well.

Plasma Vets- I would drop the doctrine.

Upgrade the Basilisk to a Demolisher or another LRBT.

yeah i know this playing right into your hands, at least all the infantry least time meant that your anti tanks was useless. I'm not even sure if i'm going to run this list, I remembered when I was playing Jason why I dislike vehicles, they just seem to sit there being stunned all game. My chimera always seem to explode and thanks to the S4 hits the squad inside end up dying or running. My vets are vets because thye've run away from every fight they've been in Plus this list was not designed with your nids in mind, although it might work with a few minor alterations namely hellhounds instead of Devil Dogs

Thanks, its nice to see that I stil know what a list is meant to look like. I am tempted by your suggestions, however I have terible luck with gets hot, I only added the grenadier doctorine due to spare points, so i can easily lose it. I might switch the LRBT for a demolisher but i'm rather fond of my bassie, although to AV 14 might be nice.

well mate from the perspective of my BTs and their comparative lack of anti tank that list is quite scary. Than again since anti MEQ is the point I suppose that to be expected.

I am still thinking I might go DKK (well not the rules) but the theme, lot of infantry and artillery with a few suprises in the form of Roughriders or Storm troopers.

Well you've got enough models hanging around to try several lists (plus I would be happy to let you proxy/borrow some of my guard). If you want to play a few friendly games with different lists before starting to settle on a few let me know. I love playing a good guard army. Sadly I can only really play you with MEQ armies since it'll be quite some time before my own guard army is usable.

we dont find your list a joke, you need to remember that we all have diferent playstyles, Lorna likes his mix o medium nids beasts (I like horde nids) Nick loves his elite stuff, dark elves/easterling knight thing (that minced gimli)
and i like Guns... mmm guns.

point im trying to make is, its your army, play how you like. I like playin you, Nick and Lorna not to win, but because you three are what i like about the hobby, good guys.

as to the list... my Ravenwing is boned lol

I wasn't really talking about you, Nick or Lorna. I really enjoy playing you guys and I feel free to try less serious lists and test stuff out. Its more when I get put against other peeps, although Lorna does love to mock my poor guardsmen which I don't think is fair considering all the biomass they've provided him with

I've lost the last couple of games against plague marines and Blood angels, and non manager Jason and a few others say I should take more tanks. I think pulling off infantry guard requires a level of tactical thinking that i'm not sure i'm at yet, i've got the basics down but I do think I need to work on the finer skills of tactics.

Saying that though I am guard "the emperors hammer" who needs tactics when you have wave after wave of men.

Oh almost forgot i've taken thursday as a flex day, so will be instore probably for most of it with as many guard as I cram into my case, if any you lads fancy a rumble.

Well I should have 1500pts of BT with me but I'm probably going to be spending all of Thursday painting, Still if there's time left after the TOMG games I'd be happy to play you.
