They can help, moreso with the slower curing resins as it gives the bubbles more time to get shook loose.
@aerethan resin behaves much differently than plaster of paris does, its sort of like comparing oatmeal to apple sauce
I made one using an old palm sander I had lying around, and it does make a difference. Combined with dusting the inside of the mod with some talc most of the pesky bubbles got chased out. Its still not as effective as a pressure pot- but its also alot easier to use and requires alot
lss equipment.
