I can pull the figure from the database, but there is no way for end users to do it and I dont plan to add it as it is almost always within 5-10 users of the total number of unique posters in the thread so not worth the effort.

another way is to set your preferences to automatically subscribe to a thread when you post on it. that way, you can just go to your profile/subscribed threads and see what has been responded to,
