I'll take the lack of a response as an indication that this list is horrendously awful

1k points isn't going to be enough to do armored AND air-cav, AND horde.

One of those has got to give so that you can spend the points on the other two.

In 40k, trying to do everything, especially at low points totals, especially especially with Imperial Guard, usually results in accomplishing nothing.

Mostly because of redundancy. Is your super-fast mobile element the biggest threat to my list? Good thing I only have to kill ONE AV12 vehicle. Not a problem. Is hordes something I have to worry about? Well, not if you're bringing infantry squads with no commissars. Am I concerned about your tank corps? Well, there are only two of them, and they're used in different ways, so likely I'm going to have to deal with only one of them, and they are easily destroyable at close range with melta weapons and assault. Once the one tank goes down, that's it.

Without redundancy, whatever is most threatening will be destroyed, and you have no replacement, which means that the best thing in your army against his won't be able to fulfill it's awesomeness.

Plus, with nearly min-maxed troops, you're going to find objectives missions tough.

heres my list that usually performs for me at 1k points, and has points to spare, to take something opponent specific, like a hydra against eldar
i beleive this list is generally refered to as mechvet lists, if you really want to just spam the crap out of chimeras you could even drop the russes for 2 more melta vets or a melta CCS

With Imperial Guard, always remember that one tank is worthless (because it's an instant target), two tanks is ok, but three is more than 50% better than two.
