(I searched - so if this is covered elsewhere - please point me to it)
Issues/questions that arose in a game last night...
1. Do vehicles have to abide by '...a model may not move within 1" of an enemy model..." (p11)?
I have always played that way, but my opponent pointed out that in the leading paragraph for the section (one starting 'Although the Movement phase...) is says this 'section' of the rulebook pertains to '...infantry and vehicles, jump infantry, bikes, and certain other units move in different ways...and these will be dicsussed in detail later."
RAW says - use their sections for movement. And the 1" rule is not there.
2. Can infantry assaulting a vehicle 'trap' it and prevent movement?
Situation: I CC a vehicles with a squad of 9 models (standard 25mm round bases) from the rear. The vehicle had positioned it self (during it prior phase) to flame another one of my units in front of it and was about 2" away from those models. I did not move them during my movement phase. After placing my models for assault, resolving combat, changing to his turn...he wanted to move his vehicle away. But his rear and 1/2 of each side had my infantry models in base contact. To his front at 2" were my other squad.
If he did not want to tank shock could he move?
Could he pivot hsi vehicle and move my infantry at his rear out of the way to move left or right?
If he wanted to tank shock to the left, could he pivot to do in these conditons?
thanks

1) Vehicles are models, so yes
RAW says - these sections give the basic rules , Vehicles have no exception to the 1" rule so must follow it.
2) Yes, if it isnt a tank or a skimmer. No if it is a tank or a skimmer
Vehicles must not come within 1" of an enemy model unless tank shocking or ramming.

But the rules on page 63 say the vehicle and the assaulting unit are not locked in combat and in future turns are free to simply move away. If I have an enemy unit in base contact with my vehicle, no matter how I move it, I am "moving within 1" of an enemy model" even if I move in a straight line directly away from the enemy model. I always thought you were allowed to move away from the enemy with a vehicle.

You can move away, as you are not moving [to] within 1", you already are within 1".
