Hey,

For a friend of mine, I am looking for a zombie scenario because we both enjoy zombie games a lot. Sometimes he notices the Imperial Guard on my desk and asks something about them. Eventually, we came with the idea of playing a zombie version of 40k. I tried looking into various scenario's, but they are quite difficult to grasp for someone that barely knows the game.
I played some small games with him, think around 400 - 400 points, he understands the basics of the game.
So I am looking for an ''easy'' scenario. (One that is also enjoyable for a non-40k-player.)
Basicly we are looking for a game where we have a squad of guardsmen running around, maybe fullfilling a mission and fighting off an endless horde of zombies. (I got around 200 zombie models so don't worry about that... )
Lot's of zombie blasting fun!
We got a 5' by 5' table, quite an amount of ruins so don't worry about that.

Any scenario is welcome!

-Loner

Just do a simple scenario where the Guard need to get from point A to point B. If a Guardsman dies in close combat, on a 4+ it becomes another zombie. Simple enough. For a zombie's statline, I'd just give it standard Guardsman stats, Feel No Pain, and Slow and Purposeful so the zombies are shambling and slow.

And maybe each Guardsmen has the Independant Character USR. If they wish to move into an area without LoS, they must pass a LD test or they count as moving through Difficult Terrain.

+1 Str for like 5 points? To autocannons or assault cannons? Hell yea. Then the Reinforced Aegis upgrade for free AND the ability to ignore stunned shaken.. pretty much for free..
Other Dreadnaughts should just go somewhere and be a toaster.

Mattieu~~~~ It's not that eldar are bad, it's that they require a lot of intergration between units. Also, that doesnt prove anything other than GW has a huge hard-on for marines, and, given the option between making a xeno the best psykers or making a marine the best psyker, they will 9 times out of 10 choose the marine.

So we have Guardsmen squad X, around ten models. Maybe a flamer or grenade launcher for fun. All models are independant characters. If they cannot see any other squadmember, they must take a leadership test, if they fail, they run back to the deployment area. When he can see a friendly model again and there is no enemy within 3'', he can become rallied again. Would it be an idea to use veterans for this? Like, you are allowed to use one unit from the IG codex and you may use a total of 150 points to upgrade them?

Either way, onto the zombies!

Zombies: Feel No Pain, Slow and Purposeful, Join us!, Endless waves, Cattle, They keep coming!, Fearless

Join us: On a 3+, the killed model comes back as a zombie.

Endless waves: Each turn the zombie player throws a dice. 1-2, one group of 10 zombies comes into the game, 3-4 two groups of 10 zombies, 5-6 three groups of 10 zombies.

Cattle: The zombies may decide to combine into bigger groups. So three groups of 10 zombies, can make one group of 30 zombies or make one group of 10 and one of 20.

They keep coming!: In the zombie player his turn, and there are 15 or more dead zombies, the zombie player can throw the scatterdice. The zombie group then enters from the side that the dice indicates.

Fearless: The zombies ofcourse don't need pinning tests or might flee from close combat.

How about these stats?
The zombies don't need a BS and since they are slow, they attack last in close combat. I also modified the save, since the zombies are carrying leather vests, have a though skin or something like that.

If you go on the games workshop website and poke around the apocalypse datasheets, they have one that covers the statlines/special rules for zombies, as well as a points cost (2 pts each IIRC).
