Allright, so I know this list might not be optimal but I haven't played for more than a couple of months so the number of models I have access to is pretty limited. This is the best 1500 list I could come up with using what I have available to me right now.

General strategy would be to pretty much just try to mow down the enemy, advancing with everything I've got and with the Lootas obviously remaining behind and firing away. The Deffkoptas will outflank and hopefully hit side or even rear armour on something early on. I have taken a liking to Shoota Boyz, but would they really be preferable in this list? I can't really figure it out since I'm not exactly a tactical genius and I haven't played more than three matches so my experience is limited.

If I were to make any changes right off the bat I would probably remove the Stormboyz and try to make room for one or maybe even two pimped out battlewagons. But how does this list look?

EDIT: I should probably add that this is pretty much all the models I have. What I have and don't use in this list is 1 more Nob and 1 Weirdboy.

I would buy, build or convert some battle wagons if I were you. You can keep the shoota boys but get them in to some wagons. Also your nobz really need a wagon. So get at least two battle wagons.

Yeah, two or three battlewagons are next on my list of purchases =)

Yea nobs are normally better in a BW, but if he doesnt have them, he doesnt have them.


As far how to run that. Obviously the KFF covers the kans, and the kans screen shots for the rest of the army. Id keep the stormboz within assault range of the nobs + boyz if possible (terrain can hoe this plan but its a start) that way they can be used to bulk up an assault. If it looks like one mob needs some help or god forbid was assaulted, use the stormboyz to jump in there some for that added umph.

Shoota boyz are more suited to sloggin anyways, so they are the ideal choice. The only time you take sluggas is if you have a bunch of trukks zipping around to get them into assault asap.

Koptas should only ever shoot the side armor, the assault is always carried out on the rear of the vehicle. But using TL rokkits gives you a good chance of opening those up long before the buzzsaw, thats mainly a "well crap I missed twice" kind of thing.


You can shave a few points here and there to get a little more performance. For example, the KMB on the kans, you can take rokkits (I love me some rokkits) and save yourself 15pts on all 3 kans. Dump the big choppa nob(or one you dont care for doesnt matter to much) and youll further save 25pts. Because really, 6 nobs tooled like that will still need 7 failed wounds to lose one (thats tough, having a 5++ AND FNP)

BUT do those 2 simple things, you can now afford to dump the big shootas in both mobs, and give them all rokkits(assuming I didnt screw up my maths) and still have 16pts for putting something on your BigMek or boss. Ive found that rokkits are just the tits, they murder MEQs and then have a decent chance of smoking a transport. It makes boyz mobs much more lethal, as they can blow up a transport during shooting, and then assault the unit inside. Rather then assaulting the transport, and then having the unit inside butcher them the following turn.

Nobz are better in a Battlewagon so I would drop them and get more Boyz. I would drop the Boss too. List is good other than those two things.

KingCracker: Thanks alot for the advice! I did what you said and actually ended up with 21 spare points, due to saving an extra 5 points from the nob since he had cybork body too =) I put an attack squig and 'eavy armor on the boss to make him just that bit more killy and tough.

mercer: Yeah, I know, and I would do that if I had the models =) Like I said earlier, battlewagons are definitely on the top of my to-do list though. Thanks for the advice!

a long time ago I converted one out of a toy tonka trukk with some spikey bitz and weapons mounts from an old lrc kit I had laying around. just make shure you spend as mutch time on converting the model as you would working for the money.

and no I am not running that jelopy any more

I understand giving him ideas on where to go next, thats not a problem at all. But my point to everyone is, say that, and then actually help on his actual thread topic. Saying things like "oh those suck, dump those and piick up a bunch of units you dont actually have, there now your a BW Spam player!" Doesnt help the actual question.

Battlewagons would not suit this list, if you read what I put I said Nobz are better in Wagons, but do not suit this list and best drop them. Someone has just said I converted a Battlewagon, I don't think they even suggested one..
