I Plan to buy a Vyper and stick some Aethersails onto the side of it. Thats all i've got as of yet

! The Photo Quailty is very unlikely to improve unfortunetly as my Dad guards HIS camera like GW protects their Fluff... i got the Hand - Me - Down Camera...

I Stuck a Genestealer in there as the Fluff for the Sslyth says that there Four armed and that was the only Four armed model i could think of

That and i have a few spare ones lying about so... Waste Not, Want Not

Any other suggestions for the Sslyth would be GREATLY appreciated

If you have any tyranid termagants parts maybe replace two of the genestealer's hands with devourers/fleshborers/spinefists as the sslyth is armed with a shardcarbine. The codex says that dark eldar enjoy capturing tyranid specimens so a genestealer doesn't seem out of place.

Nice clean lines and no places of brush slip which has just been ignored in the hope no-one sees it (exactly what I do), especially the buttons. One thing I will say, is the litany of dakka, paint thinning is your friend. Albeit an annoying one who likes to eat time, but it really does wonders it making the paintjob look real

My thought now is to expand from 1500 to 2000 points and take a 9 man Unit of Incubi with Drahzar and stick them in a raider with Flickerfield.

Is this a good move??

Its a 498 unit but would be Beastly in combat...

I like the colors, your creativity and knowledge. Only thing I would say (and I mean no offense) is that I see a few mould lines and paint spill over. Ex. the buttons on the Raider. It could also use some washes and highlights, but it took me 10 years to figure that one out, so I won't nag. =P

I also second the paint thinning. It's a dream come true for getting smoothness especially on large smooth surfaces.

Aside from my nags, I like them and would very much like to see more.

What is Paint Thinning
and Mould Lines?

Hello again! Wow that is ALOT of Deldar good job on the conversions

The venom shows alot of imagination i am struggling to get some vypers into shape (Just this morning i tore a failed 'venomisation' to pieces, back to the drawing board).

Mould lines are the very thin lines that appear at the seams when the factory cast a model in a two part mould. On Games workshop models they usually appear along the legs and arms of the model. On the Dark eldar models you should notice very slight ones on the sides of the shin guards and the top part of the arms alos along the barrels of the guns. The dark eldar model's mould lines are very slight in my experience so if you cant notice them dont bother filing them. People dont like them as they sometimes ruin the armour seams on some models (mainly space marines) and look unrealistic.

As for paint thinning when you paint you shouldnt just dip the brush in the paint. What you should do is get a pallette or a kitchen tile (basically anything with a shiny surface will do, i still use the lids of the paint pots lol) and spread a small amount of paint on it first, then dip your brush in a bit of water and mix it in. You want your paint to flow as nicely as possible (i.e. water it down) but still opaque, if it is too watery it will just flow into all the creases and spoil you paint work but if it is too thick you require more brushstrokes and more paint (over thick paint also has a blobby, rough textured look as the you have to do more brushwork to spread it around). Initially something as seemingly basic as getting your paint to the right consistency is difficult but it become second nature.

You've definitely got the paint thickness right

what i would suggest next is some washes? I am thinking Ogryn Flesh on the abomination would make it look well good. Your conversion is great as well, shame it's too small, would still make a good ogre tho!

i actually used Ogryn Flesh on the model Perkustin. Don't know if its the photo or not, but the body of it has some darker patches on it which looks quite effective (in my crap painting opinion

)

And Yeah i loved using that old Hell pit as everyone looked at it and went well that looks crappy... lets charge that!

And then that unit died... and then they cried...

Perhaps give it another coat in the recesses? Sometimes it takes a few coats with the washes.
