Well i collect Orks, and my brother collects the SM, and every time we play he wins by an absolute mile, and i mean every time! Now i'm not sure if there's some cheating going on here ¬¬ but whatever.

Anyhow, the problem is, as generally the Orks aren't good at shooting (at all), I just charge accross the table at the marines, and a few of my guys get picked off, but then as soon as i get into close combat, he kills me, when I'm the one whos meant to excell at it. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong, as i seem to get slaughtered everytime, and no, my dice don't hate me.

I also seem to be unable to kill the space marines with my Eldar as well, however, they don't fail every time. So what is it, do I fail, are the sapce marines too good, or do the Orks like to die for lulz?

What kind of lists are you both running?

Also running head-long straight across the board is not exactly sound tactics.

The problem you may be having is too-few boyz(a unit of 10 boyz to start charging a unit of Marines after taking shooting casualties on the way in is certainly going to fail), or possibly not applying all the attacks you get in CC.

This is my Rulebook. There are many Like it, but this one is mine. Without me, my rulebook is useless. Without my rulebook, I am useless.

Agreed, give us lists you both play (even if its a big by memory) then people can give you more sound advice. Because on the surface, Orks pretty much shouldnt worry about assaulting marines

First, get some trucks. Your boys will live alot longer.
Second, if you don't want trucks, get a Big Mek with a Kustom Force Field.
Also, pack your boys into larger squads. If you are not in a trasport, a squad of 30 will usually live longer then 3 squads of 10. And make sure each squad has a Nob with a power klaw.

Either option will let your guys live much longer.

For your brothers list, you did not list an HQ. He must have a captain before he is able to buy the command squad.

pool your boyz squads together. You should be able to get a mob of 30, and a mob of 20 something by doing that.

Ork boys are 6 points, marines 16. If you attack them with a 2 to 1 ratio in your favor you're still attacking a larger point cost unit. It's not a fair fight until you outnumber them 3 to 1.

30 boys cost about the same as 10 marines, and 30 shoota boys out shoots 10 marines. The low cost for a high rate of fire offsets the BS2. Orks are actually a very shooty army if you want them to be.

Chaos isn’t a pit. Chaos is a ladder. Many who try to climb it fail, and never get to try again. The fall breaks them. And some are given a chance to climb, but refuse. They cling to the realm, or love, or the gods…illusions. Only the ladder is real. The climb is all there is, but they’ll never know this. Not until it’s too late.

Really you need trukks for this list. The rest of your army is dead speedy and yet the boyz and boss and stuck walkin'. Now that aint right Get your boyz in groups of 12, give them all trukks, get the nobs a wagon and put PKs where you see fit. That and don't focus on shooting, focus on assault. A PK boss would make handy work of termis no problem, as for the dread, he's scrap

First, if you footing it across the board the smallest your Boyz unit should be is 20 and 30 is even better, and the most importent thing Nob with PK and maybe BP in EVERY Boyz unit. The Nob in Boy unit is NOT a option, its the reason the boyz live. 10 TSM should fear getting charged by 30 Slugga/Choppa Boyz with PK Nob.

As for the Nobz unit, you need a Painboy, this will give you FNP anf the option for 5+ inv save (take this option). Next a Waaagh Banner, this can made with 1 or 2 BP and a handful of bits. Give 1 a BP, 2 or 3 PKs, and 3 or 4 BC. Also your Warboss will fit in with them great, T5 W3 and FNP = hard to take down. Remember Cybork Body is your friend, Nobz and Warboss should have it.

Stormboyz need more and Boss Zagstruk (or atleast a PK Nob I like Zagstruk), for then to really work.

Warbikes atleast 6 one of then a Nob with PK and PB. They are good at drive bys, and with they strom boys can double assault a unit early game. Of course they will likely die on the other guys turn.

Warbuggies are just fun, Rokkit or Skorcha are the way to go, but remember Grot Rigger and Armor Plates are point less in Squadrons.

Deffkoptas, I like them with Buzzsaw and Rokkits, great at breaking AV and late game contesting.

As you can only feild 3 Fast Units and the SM players light on AV I leave the Deffkoptas at home and goy Lootaz or more Boyz.

Also think about making a list thats either all Walking or all Riding.

Good Luck.

Eternal Plague

Your army is missing alot and has extra parts that make it look wonky.

Let me fix it fer ya.

1 Warboss- give him a powerklaw and an attack squig. Perhaps a bosspole, but not really needed. If he dies alot, add in a Cybork or 'eavy Armor upgrade to make him a bit more resilient.

1 Big Mek w/ KFF- it gives your entire army within 6" of him a 5+ cover save. Helps increase the survivability of boyz slogging across field by 33% under most circumstances. Add in a powerklaw for extra stompability.

30 Boyz w/ Nob and Powerklaw.

30 Boyz w/ Nob and Powerklaw.

That should be the core of your walking ork army.

Throw in 3 rokkit deffkoptas as solo squads and give each a buzzsaw. Or do 2 and make a max buggy squad with rokkits.

After this, tell us how many points we have to work with.

Thanks for the help i'll try the things you're saying, and pool them into a stratergy that owns my brother marines!!

And yeah, the head of the command squad is a captain.

Moving flat out..

Boyz definitely like to hang out in mobz of 20-30! (I max it out)!

Everyone that's already posted as good advice..

I personally roll with Mobz of 30 including Nobz with PK.

Good luck !

Also, I'm guestimating some numbers, and I assumed 3 each for warbuggies and deffkoptas, but it seems like the SM might be fielding more points than you. Make sure to check totals both ways.

You must understand that for an ork a day that starts off killing something with your bare hands, and ends with those same hands being chopped off in battle, is a good one.

What's betta than one choppa? Two choppas!!! Two choppas is one more than...is one times da...IS LOTS MORE FUN!! WAAAAGH!!!

Yeah, I've had quite a bit of fun with shooty orks in the past. Its shocking how many shots you can really put into an ork list, even without a green tide. For instance for 25 points each warbikes get 3 S5 shotas that are twin linke, 18" range, on a bike that always gets a 4+ cover save even in the open. 10 of them can kill SM combat squads from just torrent of fire. Then their is the lootas...
