im just wondering if vendettas count as a transports?

My friend royally kicked my ass the other day with his vendettas. and after looking at his codex i noticed it said "a Valkaryie has a transport capacity of twelve models" not a Vendetta, a valyrie. it also states that a vendetta serves as a dedicated gunship. so im just wondering if i got cheated or if the vendetta is just that cheesey.

Nope the vendetta does indeed have a transport capacity of 12 models.

It says so in the Army List section of the IG codex, look there.

A Vendetta is basically a Valk with Twin Linked lascannons rather than Missile pods and the nose weapon (forgot what it actually was). It costs more to compensate for the weaponry (although it's still pretty damn cheap for 3 TL lascannons on a Transport).

I dont think the OP has readily access to the codex, so it's easy for that part to be missed.

The GW FAQ fixes the problem you're describing, as an errata no less.
