Well, I went on to highway 99 today hoping to see if there were any movement trays in stock at fantastic games today and I found out they are closed for good.
Bummer because the seattle area has become a desert for wargaming stores to play in aside from the 2 GWs around edmonds.
If anyone knows any other non-official GW stores around edmonds/seattle to play in, can they post a name?

Gary's Games (on Greenwood just above 85th or so) has a couple tables with decent terrain, but no GW culture that I know of. It wouldn't be a bad place to get a game in here and there, and is probably the closest to central Seattle.
There's one place out in Woodinville or something called Ernie's, I think. People speak highly of their gaming, which is on Monday evenings (again iirc, seek confirmation).
The same factor screws over both game shops and large-studio arts (like dance spaces and metal foundries) here in Seattle: Greedy-ass landlords who would rather have a space stand empty for years than admit that their rents are far, far too high. It sucks to see space-intensive endeavors suffer. Perhaps the moronic business owners will finally wake up after a few more years of this depression. Most likely not, though. Commercial property ownership and shortsighted greed seem to go hand in hand on a regular basis around here. Seems like landlords in other cities (like Portland) know that a bird in the hand is almost always best. The Seattleite rich have a stubborn arrogance that will hopefully hurt their pockets in the long run. Frigging hypocrite latte-sucking yuppies!
Uhm, sorry about the rant. Favorite hobby horse there. Too many great shops (Game Wizard, Games and Gizmos on Broadway, Fire and Sword) around here have gone under due to high rent.
In the meantime, PM me if you'd like to get a game in at Gary's sometime.

Don't know of anything really close to you but there's the new AFK tavern in Everett. There's also Game Forge Games in Auburn. Not what you are looking for probably but throwing em out there.

I'll have to check out GFG one of these days. Can't imagine going there on a regular basis because of the distance but I'll try.

You could stop by and check out the current iteration of Games & Gizmos in Renton. They have space and tables but are frequently out of stock on stuff. Not sure how invested the wargaming culture is.

I called them and they seem to be a big warmahordes venue, moreso than GW. I was informed they have 3-4 regulars showing up on tuesdays for 40k around 6ish.
I was thinking about the auburn place, but I might as well drive up to battle den in burlington if I'm gonna spend the time commuting. I do want to try the place in woodinville but I am unfamiliar with that area.

I'm going to go check out AFK Tavern one of these days. I lived about 4 blocks from the Fantastic Games location so was really bummed when they closed.
Gary's Games doesn't carry any figs other than reaper and some GW boxed stuff. They are mainly a D&D/pen & paper and boardgame place. They do have an area for gaming that you can use so maybe us GW people can start a new trend there.

It's a bit of a drive north, but Battleden in Burlington has a pretty huge 40k following, and a lot of space to play.

Too bad about Fantastic Games--but I went in there a couple times when I lived in Everett and it was pretty unwelcoming, not to mention being a hard-to-find hole-in-the-wall.

In tukwila south center mall there is Uncles Games but that is a WarmaHordes crowd.
The next store beyond that is simply in Kent Station.
In Renton, near 167 around Uwajimaya Japanese Grocery Store/Holiday Inn/Big 5 there are two stores in that plaza area. One is a MTG/ CCG store the other one is new.. I have not visited it yet, but what makes it all the funnier is the fact that they are in 30 sec proximity from each other.
If i get the name i'll let you know.
ALSO - there is a new store in SEATTLE. Roughly near Broadway area.
http://seattlewargaming.com/
Its going to be opening soon. Keep an eye on this.
But on a serious note -- If people are serious in getting a little gaming group however to fill the gap in between the bunker and kent station, I do live near Renton (I live Bellevue), but if there is enough people interested in renting out a gaming location sorta like a private gaming club I'd be down to pitch in a large sum investment and capital as I know some people out there who have startup companies and would colease a little section of a place for their web development group. I also use to work with a business partner with distributor access the benefit to setting this up would be discounts.
The location could be from Renton-Seattle-Bellevue anywhere around there.

About the TCG/CCG shop(s) near the Renton Uwajimaya, the one labeled "Big League Sportscards" is the shop that the owner of "Shane's Cards" (if I recall correctly, haven't been to the new shop much, so I might be wrong on the name,) used to own. Shane moved from the old store because the TCG crowd outgrew the space he had available for tournaments at the old location.
TLDR; One of the card shops by the Renton Uwajimaya is the new location for the business of the other location down there. So, the owner moved shop down the block for more floor space essentially.
I don't believe they have any tables for wargaming though. Plenty of space to set up tables if the interest in wargaming was strong enough in the area to warrant fitting 40K/Fantasy into a time slot at the store. Also, not sure if they have enough storage space to store the 4x6 boards we wargamers require in order to fight each other.

Gotcha gotcha - I'ver never visited or went just always drove by and found it possibly funny to have two competing stores in the same area.. but that would never make sense.
Thanks for clarification though. Sooo there is a possible other store in Renton that.. I dont know of? maybe someone else knows?

I have been to Ernie's in woodinville. It was a great place to play with lots of room and tables. It has been over a year since I have been there, since I live quite a ways away, however it is highly recommended, even if it is a drive.
