Hi Dakka

I'm going to get aobr for my ork army and then i noticed my old chaos space marine army and thought that 5 terminators 10 marines and a dread would be a nice addition to it, the only problem is how do you convert the marines and the terminators any advice would be great

Nurgle is by far the easiest modeling process in Warhammer.

You could also put x's through the ultramarines symbols and have green or red dripping from it?

Also, paint the chaos symbol on their blank shoulderpad.

Yes generally speaking painting a renegade chapter type scheme will go nicely and also converting with green stuff as ram said.

If you dont want to go 4 nurgle then id recommend getting an X-acto knife and giving them battle damage ( or ooze also if your going 4 nurgle) and generally bitz that look spiky in any way shape or form

Red Corsairs is probably the easiest of the legions. According to the older Chaos Codex, all the red corsairs were from other SM Chapters, and once they switched over, they painted their old symbols red? I believe they also put the Corsair symbol on their shoulder pad. I think they look more "renegade" that way rather than the latest Red Corsair images.

An open mind is like a fortress with its gates unbarred and unguarded

The old 3.5 CSM book had Red Corsairs painted in normal chapter colors with x's painted over their chapter symbols, shoulderpads, chest eagle and kneepads.

Give the Marines spikes from the Chaos Vehicle Accesory sprue should be enough to make them Chaos-y. Paint them up in your army's color and they should blend in real nice.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

Given that those black reach marines come with the codex tactical squad markings molded in the freaking pauldrons, I'd say Red Corsairs is the easiest conversion to do. Just paint em up as regular smurfy marines and X out the Imperial icons in red

I'd have to say going the Nurgle route would be easiest.
Shave off all the Loyalist Icons, get your trusty pin vice and drill some holes here and there in the armour, apply a few GS pustules and boils, paint in a suitable disgusting style and serve.

I am both selfish and chaotic. I value self-gratification and control; I want to have things my way, preferably now. At best, I'm entertaining and surprising; at worst, I'm hedonistic and violent.

I'm in the progress of converting my AOBR SM to Night Lords(ish) (I'm terrible at painting lightning, so it's just the basic paint scheme of Night Lords).

I removed all of the symbology with an exacto knife and a file and put some horns and spikes (either from old bits or made from GS) on them.

The same was done with the terminators - here I drilled holes into the helmet and put in the horns from an old skeleton box . Additionally I use the Chaos renegade etched brass from Forgeworld to get a little symbology back on the shoulder pads after stripping them from their original symbols. For the trophy rack, you can either use leftovers from other CSM Terminators or just cut off some Spikes from a vehicle accessory sprue and glue them on (I advise to drill a small hole first to set the spikes in - mine always fell/ broke off whe just glued to the surface. You can also use almost all leftover pieces from the Chaos Lord in Terminator Armor box (great to get another Combi Melter on the rather bland AOBR termies).

For the dreadnought, I used one of the armour plates and one of the round spikey bits from the Chaos Vehicle Accessory Sprue, as well as a metal chaos star, that was bent around one leg. The dreadnought is currently in my Galery -if you're interested I can put up a few pictures from converted SM and Terminators tonight.
