Just read through the 'Primary weapon' rule and saw this part of it:- Primary weapons always count as ordnance for the purposes of rolling for armour penetration and on vehicle damage charts.

So i understand that you would get the 2D6, pick the highest plus the strength of the weapon for armour penetration but what does it mean as counts as ordnance for vehicle damage charts as i believe the only modifier from ordnance would be that the centre of the large blast markers counts as AP1, does this mean primary weapons always count as AP1 against vehicles (even if the cehtre hole is not on the vehicle itself) so you always gain a +1 damage modifier?

Any suggestions on this would be appreciated.

Could you please tell us in what book and on what page you're finding this "primary weapon" rule? It doesn't sound like any 40k rule I'm familiar with.

It is an Apocalypse rule.

you wish, where you getting this from?

Userarm - Apocalypse was written in 4th edition, when you had 3 vehicle damage charts:

1) Glancing
2) Penetrating
3) Ordnance

Ordnance mainly had a bigger chance of the current Explodes! result.

As such that part no longer makes any sense - so you just get to roll 2D6 for AP, pick the highest now.

Additonally - Ordnance is NOT automatically Ap1 in the centre. The only* case where this is true is the NEcron Monolith, and ONLY because it has a special rule saying so.

*that I can think of. 40k is full of exceptions so i may have missed one...

Thx Nos, that'll be why its confusing me as ive only recently started playing apoc games with the 5th Ed rules and it didnt match up, but thats why im on here..

IF you havent get apocalypse reloaded, as it has some cool bits in it, and also imperial armoury apocalypse 1 and 2 are pretty good reads - the latter has some expanded missions as well.

yeah i got apoc reloaded, it made me buy 5 Monoliths to use the 'Doomsday Phalanx'lol
