The desert world seemed safe. The distress transmissions had stopped as the Space Marines pulled out of warp drive. But a quick scan of the planet revealed it was worse than it had appeared... much worse. The hive mind had landed on the surface and new tyranid monstrosities were now rising from teeming pools of biomatter. Vulkan called for a quick insertion team to land on the planet with a limited Biomass group, so that if they should fail they would not feed the stomachs of some fell beast. The master of the forge awoke several Dreadnoughts from slumber, including one of the chapters oldest to lead its reborn brothers into battle. And climbing aboard their drop pods they hurtled towards the planet to cleanse the infestation with Vulkan's glorious fire.
