Hey guys,
So my group(or duo, more accurately) is now making terrain. Based on what we've read and advice we've solicited, we've decided to go with hardboard(similar to the old clipboards) for our basing. My next question, which adhesive to use?
I have PVA and hotglue, and super glue, and instead of trial and error, I thought I might just ask the community here at dakka,
My first two pieces to be based are the resin ork barricades and the GW buildings(from the sector).

PVA will work fine for hardboard to wood/card and the like.
Plastics will be better cemented down with Superglue.
Dampen the surface of the hardboard where you are going to stick down the plastic. Let it soak in a little, wipe off the extra water and the Superglue will stick quickly and hard.
I would advise gluing the barricades to narrow strips of hardboard, so they can be repositioned and knocked over easily without breaking. Resin is rather brittle.

Hard board is good (I believe its called masonite) and what I use but it does warp. I heard 1/4 in. MDF works good also. I use Liquisd Nails to glue The barracades and buildings to the bases. Also supa glue works good with the resin as it's really porous.

I usually just use PVA and it works fine. Only problem is it takes a day or so to dry, but that's PVA for you. It's pretty porous stuff so I imagine just about any kind of glue would work well.
Can't think of anything that's ever come off, and I transport terrain loose in a big bag or box pretty often.

I'm not like them, but I can pretend.

I would second the use of MDF I have always found hardboard to warp. PVA or no nails will work, I sometimes use 2 part epoxy as well. Personally I wouldn't use superglue for attaching anything to the base. Take a wander around your local hardware store I'm sure they will have a ton of adhesives that would work.

Thanks guys, I didn't think about the resin being breakable...that is a good point.
Warping??? Doh! That I did not know, my local DIY only had hardwood, not mdf in an acceptable thickness, :(

In my experience if you don't paint both sides mdf or hardboard will bow/warp.
I paint both sides green first, then glue down the terrain piece and sand/flock.

Also if using pva, score the surface really well then sand to get rid of the bits sticking up.

Invest 5 or 6 bucks in a small hot glue gun for this type of thing - you won't regret it.

I've made my gaming table out of 1/4" mdf. It would be a bit thick for terrain basing. If you can find it in 1/8" inch, good on ya, but it will probably be comparatively expensive.
