What playstyle would you choose if you had a new army, and why?

For example,

If I played BA, I would play a DoA list, because deepstriking a ton of models with 3+/FNP sounds really really fun.

Mosy of my armies so far have been low on model counts, templars, daemons, necrons.

Id either go for nidzilla(keeping it low!), or gaunt horde.

My poor wallet can't take no more...

Gotta say, I'd probably start an elite trooper style army cough cough grey knights cough. Must be nice to only have 30 or so models to paint for a 1000 point game.... stupid Guard infantry, why did I buy you knowing I paint 1 model in 4 hours

Exactly this to be honest. I have 3 armies and if I ever get myself a 4th it would be DoA Blood Angels.

I need a shooty army, with lots of numbers. Imperial Guard really.

I already play Orks, but I do a very mixed footslogging/mechanized list. Playing a Kan Wall would be a nice change of pace.

Currently I collect Tyranids, so I'd want a team who is the opposite, elite, expensive units rather than hundreds of weaklings. It's a shame the only SM chapter I like the Grey Knights and they've not been updated in ag- Oh wait...

I currently play IG. I think I want something that I'll have to paint less of, like Necrons.

I may pick up a Phalanx, if I can find one.

I play Eldar - one of my army 'rules' for selection is that everything needs to be able to move 24", and move 12" before firing at full effect.

Because of this, when I started a second army (which I'm still building) I chose all-infantry IG. The idea is that it's very different in looks and in use. I want to play differently, and learn new tactics/perspectives with infantry than with fast vehicles.

I borrowed a friend's IG to try out in this manner, and got massacred. So if you follow this route, choosing a very different 2nd option, for the love of god try it out in smaller games first. I am building my IG to 1k points so I can get a handle on how it really works, before thinking about how to play my normal 2k games.

This is a nice question and something I think of fairly frequently when I look at other Codices to be honest.

For me, it'd almost certainly be an army that requires some degree of talent and for which I use unconventional/non-'spam' army lists, probably either:

- Grey Knights
- Hybrid Blood Angels
- Hybrid Imperial Guard

I'd want something that plays the same style as my current army, but in a slightly different way, or had the potential to do it better.

Play footslogging BT now so...

Either a shooting heavy army or an army with a huge model count.

I'd play Necron Destroyerwing or trilith.

Just actually started a new one, and its Deathwing Because Thunder Hammer Storm Shield Cyclone Missile Launching Terminators are awesome.

If I were to start a new army, it would most likely be a Razorspam of some form. Sure it is pretty cookie cutter, but hey, it works.

I just started a Ravenwing force, its to tie in with a mates deathwing, we may take it to the doubles tournament next year

I have no time for new armies yet, I need to rebuild the older ones... but Tau I guess.
