Hello everyone,

These are my newly completed Emperor's Champion and Terminator Assault Squads, let me know what you think!

The entire photo range is in my gallery linked here (along with a ton of my older stuff): http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/user/19855-TakamineG.html

Thanks for the feedback in advance.

The paint is nice and smooth and they look good, but I must say, the highlights on the black are so subtle that from as far off as the third picture, they look non-existant. I would make the highlights a little more defined on the black.

Hail!

You do Dorn and all his sons justice with that set of pics.

Where did you get that Emperor's Champion model from? I don't recognize the model at all!!! I MUST KNOW!

Also awesome FW shields and pads for the terminators. The basing is excellent also.

I'd be honored to fight alongside those Knights of the Black Crusade on even the worst of deathworlds of the Imperium.

Praise Russ!

It's the Emperor's Champion from the 25th Anniversary of GW. They pop up on eBay every once in a while.

Edit: Actually, there's a couple on eBay right now. One for $25 bucks, as well.

Thanks for the early responses guys!

Yeah Darth I gotta go back and enhance/finish some of the highlighting. Some of it got rubbed off just from me handling the model, some doesn't show up and some was skipped.

And the EC is actually is a converted Vanguard Vet jumpack marine (the one with the relic blade). He's got a converted head and the actual EC sword though.

Very nicely painted models you've got there! The champ looks great, but the armor seems a tad...what's the word...not bland, but it looks a little undeveloped. Don't get me wrong, your edge highlighting is great but the areas in between seems a tad flat to me. Now the laurels and the sword look terrific, as do the lightning claws of the termi.

I'm also impressed with the white helmets, since flat white is a tad tricky to get. The armor of the termi's could be highlighted further, but it could be the photos that are washing it out.

Hopefully my babbling made some sort of sense...

Love the white. How may I ask did you get the white looking so smooth. Having some issues myself, what colour basecoat did you use for the white bits(i find using white straight onto black needs almost masochistic numbers of coats!)

On the EC the arms were sprayed black and the shoulder pads were given a layer of Astronomican Grey. After that I did some layers of white to build it up, took a while but I think it worked out really well

The Terminators had their shoulder pads and helmets sprayed white separately. But a white spray coat usually isn't enough so for the shoulder pads I pained 2 more layers of white on top of the base coat. The helmets were inked blue and then I went back over them with 3-4 layers of white leaving ink in the cracks and nooks.

@Scarecrow456 I'm planning on going back and highlighting the areas that I missed or the areas it just doesn't show up very much. It's not too long a process but I still need to find the time

Great stuff. I'm personally a fan of marines with very clean armor. The white sections in particular are very nice.

Your Emperor's Champion is really cool. It doesn't even look like a conversion. It's hard to top the official model, but that one could do it!
