If you have created an awsome army that has kicked some serious bottom....would you be so kind as to let me know? New to Warhammer and sometimes it can all get a bit 'confuddling'! Friends are constantly bickering about the best army, but from seasoned players, which do you recommend against Space Marines??....Is there REALLY an army that can be called ultimate?.....

Defensive Space Wolves or Leaf Blower are your best bets.

But no there is no army that will win you the game on its own.

Yes my Colour is Black but not for the reasons stated mainly just because it's slimming... http://imperiusdominatus.blogspot.com

Yes I agree with Flingitnow. Space Wolves with Thunderwolf Cav and Long Fang ML X 5 and Grey HUnters as your Troop is a very strong all round Army that can take on all comers.

Space Wolves are very forgiving and their various power units are VERY difficult to match in many other codices.

Its too bad really...makes me feel dirty when I win because so few can compete.

In fact we must say that the most beautiful thing of this game is that it is a balanced game.

A part some, very very old codex, the average level of the most part of the others is viable.

One good question for youself could be: am I looking for the "win at all costs" tournaments army or for an all rounded army that will let me try game by game different config, different models, background setups and bla bla bla?

This will help you for sure pointing vs the good choice.

However, as you will discover sooner or later the most part of players have 3/4, in some case even more, different armies.

Even if this will means a pain for your economy is very satisfying having an apocalypse/fully equippend for every fun/background/fluffy/all comers game and a couple of alternative 1850/2000 points "ultimately" optimized for tournaments.

It all depends about you and GW discount prices

Maybe it will be just a sentimental advice but if in your game group there is a codex not played try it. Eventually not Necron or Daemon Hunters because of the new codexes scheduled for this year but you'll can find something for sure.

lolwut?

To the OP, there is an ultimate army, and its usually one of the 4 latest codii updated.

I've been very succesful with BA, but mainly because my opponent doesn't know what they are up against most of the time. I don't know how long my winning streak will continue.

This is one list I like to run with them (though it is far from the ultimate army):

HQ - 200

Librarian - 100
-(Fear of the Darkness/Unleash Rage)

Librarian - 100
-(Fear of the Darkness/Sanguine Sword)

ELITES - 620

Assault Terminator Squad (10) - 400
-4 THSS - 20

Sanguinary Priests (3) - 150
-2 Jump Packs - 50

TROOPS - 380

Assault Squad (10) - 190

Assault Squad (10) - 190

FAST ATTACK - 300

Vanguard Veteran Squad - 115
-4 Power Swords - 60
-5 Infernus Pistols - 75
-5 Jump Packs - 50

Total - 1500 Points

Where does one actually find the "Leaf Blower" army list at? I've heard of it but never seen it written out in list form? 1k? 1500? 1750? 2000 pts?

Its 2500 points and you can find it if you search Leafblower Imperial Guard on Google.

Can it be used at smaller point cost games? Does it escalate?

It doesn't scale down well after 2000 points. I've seen many incarnations at 1850 and such but they are just shadows of their former selves.

But seriously though, don't play a leafblower list, it's incredibly dull and requires very little imagination.

I don't know why, but i think you would suit Blood Angels; they have awesome models, are very competative and are relatively easy to play. Plus you get a Sky Rhino....I mean Stormraven.....to inflict pain with come Feb.

...And you shall know us by the trail of dead.

A Meganob army list for Orks.

It consists of KFF Big mek and Thraka with like...3 troops of Meganobs In battle wagons with Lobba. I think it also has some Lootas and Boyz in there as well.
Maybe Deff Kopters. There is a few ways to do it but its a very potent list.
