So i was looking around and i havent been able to find a picture of the sprue that comes DA veteran Box. I've asked some people from my local GW what the difference and i havent been able to get a definite answer so i'm going to the internet

I've heard that there the same exact thing except in DA veteran box comes with Bases. If anyone could provide pics of both that would be awesome or if someone could clear this up would be sweet to. Thanks!!

If you purchase the Dark Angels upgrade, you get two Dark Angels Veterans boxes worth of bodies, heads, and bolters, plus other bitz, basically 10 robed marines. The major letdown is not getting the "upgrade" sprue, that has the meltagun, plasmagun, etc. And the bases aren't included. All-in-all, the Dark Angels Upgrade sprue is the way to go

The Veteran box also comes with the Space Marines tactical special weapons sprue.

Given the frequency of these threads, maybe someone should make a sticky post about them?

Also, GW has since changed the DA upgrade sprue. You now only get one DA upgrade sprue, which has enough parts to build 5 Marines either armed with Power weapons or Bolters, as well as conversion parts such as extra robed heads, Terminator legs, assault cannon, Termie power sword, and shoulderpads. Before it was two sprues, but due to everyone wising up on how good of a deal it was, GW changed it. They've lowered the price about 1/3, but took out one of the sprues.

I'd say that these days, a Veterans box is a better deal for the special weapons and the bases. And by deal I mean "less gouge-y option."

You get exactly what you pay for. GW does it's Pricing by # of sprues + bases apparently (two sets with different costs but same model yield and the models are the same size usually means one set has either more bases, more sprues, or both).

Thanks for the help guys but i still think the upgrade sprue is a good deal since you get 5 marines and 1 set of terminator legs for 13.25 while in the vet box you get 5 marines and some extra bits

The Canadian prices remained largely unchanged. The sprue went from 2 for 30 to 1 for 16, so it's only a buck increase in cost. The US cost, as I heard, went up by alot proportionally. Dont know about UK costs, but most certainly cheaper overall.
