When my college implemented the worst internet connection ever, I basically had to give up Eve, so I needed something to satisfy my cravings of playing with spaceships. I started in BFG/Full Thrust with a Tau fleet. So basically wargaming replaced Eve for me.

I'm searching for something interactive that is a lot more meaningful than Facebook games. I'm also looking to find more friends since I've lost touch with so many over the past couple years. I've been painting my army since April 2010, and I'm hoping to start gaming very soon.

painted: 12 dryads,9 glade guard,2 glade guard scouts.
assembled but unpainted: 2 glade guard and the lord's bowman, 8 glade guard scouts, sexy elf lord
in the box: , 8 glade riders, , one female spellsinger, Orion, Ariel, the faerie queen. SOB immolator, 15 sisters.

I started wargames playing Star Wars Miniatures, about 5 years ago. I liked Star Wars at the time and had always played RTS games, and I liked the idea of being able to play a strategy game with tangible pieces. I had heard of Warhammer 40k and had been interested but did not have the money at the time. About 2 years ago now, I decided to get into it and bought the AoBR set. I almost immediately liked it more than Star Wars because of how it felt like more of a large scale battle and the fact that it was not played on flat maps.

I started because it was 'kewl' and it was cheap. I kid you not, LOTR packages were attached to a local newspaper. It took 2 years before they reached LOTR magazin 96, And I got them all. It had LOTR miniatures in it. After some convincing from Hendaron, I jumped in.

Walked into a shop 11 years ago, and saw the all of the shiny 2nd edition codexs. I've always loved scifi books, and started buying the old codexs and army books. (the old ones were basically novels with army lists in the back section.) And they used to have the models ranges printed in the back, and I started buying odds and ends, and yeah, here we are more than a decade later, and still going strong with it.

I was always sort of interested in it, but never really got serious with it. My borther used to collect it, but there is a ten year age gap between me and him, so the by the time I was old enough to really like it, he was like, 25 and had moved on ages ago. He never really did game. I really got into it with the first DOW when it came out, after a few weeks of playing it I went to my FLGS, decided crap, that stuff is expensive. Someone I knew had bought a CSM megaforce a year before, along with another squad, some plague marines and demon prince of nurgle, all unassembled, 95% still on sprues. They never really liked it, and thats when I started and never looked back despite it eating my money like a coyote and 14oz steak

Was at the mall one day when the new GW opened, I walked in, played a game and was hooked. Sadly they abandoned us until recently when a new store opened and now I play tabletop RPGs and board games more.

I was about 15 years old and was introduced by my friends at school. I fell in love with the models (not the price) and bought a box of space marines. I gave up on it about 2 years later! Then out of no where a friend sucked me back in after a 4 year break! Luckily this time I had more disposable income and now I have a 2000 point IG army that gets it butt kicked on a regular basis!

I played dawn of war for 2 years, then realized there was a tabletop game, and started a space marine army. I already knew the names of all their equipment, so it wasnt hard for me to make the transition. I learnt the rules, couple others at my school started it, and I thorouhly thrashed them constantly until we got some better players.

I've been playing D&D for about 12 years and we use miniatures for that so I've always been a fan of table top gaming. Recently (about 6 months ago) found out a group of friends from work played warhammer and my sisters boyfriend way back in jr high played and I remembered how sweet it looked so I went to my FLGS and bought Necrons after a long debate between Tyranids and Necrons... and well the Necron lore sold it for me.

Now I collect both armies and love the game lol

When I was really into airsoft, I got linked from a forum to Forge World and instantly fell in love with Elysians. Once I learned about exchange rates, I thought the whole thing might be too expensive. Well, a few years later, Iget discharged from the Army and had some extra cash lying around. from that. I thought it was enough for an Elysian army, but little did I know...

Some friends of mine were into it and got me hooked, just after 3rd edition 40k came out in 1998. Oddly enough, those guys never really got into it properly and only have a handful of miniatures each, whereas I have a wardrobe full of the damned things.
