I remember a funny argument on how the Rage rule doesnt work on DC dreads because they had no eyes. Now that they did come out, it's shown that the pilot has his head peaking out (although it is a skull). Could it be due to how people argued that DC dreads cant actually "see" because it had no eyes?

Also, sorry if this has been discussed somewhere, but I honestly dont know what words to use to search for it.

Actually, there's no "skull" poking out.

There's one head that was said to be the "pilot's face", but it was just a golden deathmask. The skull is likely just another metallic piece ala the Chaplain's helm, then painted bone-white.

The old Death Company dreadnoughts had the same eye slit as a regular dreadnought, so I think that's a moot point. Also, if they had no eyes, wouldn't they be BS0? That skull is probably just a helmet like a chaplain's skull. I think they just don't have rage because you can't attach a chaplain to them.

Maybe a helmet, but it's definately the pilot's head. Before though, someone on YMDC said that slits dont count as they're not really eyes or heads. Now it's pretty clear they have eyes. Then again, YMDC does get quite stupid at times.

It coud be a servo skull that is linked to the dreadnought pilot's brain. Why have eyes when you can link to camera feeds.

Ask yourself: have you rated a gallery image today?

If it has no eyes, it can't shoot.

Go tell that to an Eldar player when he tries using Wraithlords.

RAW is silly sometimes.

Vehicle line of sight works differently, you use the gun barrels.

Good thing WLs aren't vehicles then.

It could... but given GW's habit of just ignoring the sillier rules 'issues' it's more likely to be simply a result of GW copying the design of Forgeworld's older-style dreadnoughts for the more 'special' dreadnought variants.
