Hey all Dakka Dudes

I've resently got back into 40k after doing Fantasy and War of the rings stuff and decided to do a Crimson Fists army. So here's my first part of the 1500 point army that i intend to paint up. First of all what would any Crimson Fists army do without Pedro Kantor.

I'll update once he's finished and then again when i get the next bit to add and so on...

i would suggest either snow bases (awesome) or urban bases. they would contrast well with the colour scheme.

in my opinion anyway

I agree with either snow or urban. I would go for urban but that is more because snow seems to be really hard to do well, and to made it last through the years. Plus some very striking urban bases can be made with house hold items.

I've already said it, but awesome model.

Well the base is done but sadly i didn't get round to taking a pic, and now it's in GW Norwich window on display.

Here is what i'm going to be painting up for the army:

18 Sternguard, these will be made out of Normal marines, Killteam deathwatch shoulderpads and bolters and crimsonfist shoulderpads. Also need to make 5 Combi-meltas aswell.
20 Marines
2 rhino's
2 Razorbacks
vindicator
2 Predators

The bases i've decided on were an urban style with scattered snow.

Urban with snow? Good way to take every suggestion on board, lol. Looking forward to the next completed model with the base.

Not too much progress as of yet but i'm going to be ordering almost the whole 1500 points on sunday/monday hopefully to get started.
I got my kantor model back from GW but my camera ran out of battery power and i need to get more so a pic of the completed model will be up soon and possibly a pic of a load of toys will be here too.

Right now to open this project up again. I finally got some batteries for the camera but then they ran out (anyone know of some camera batteries that don't run out within 5 mins).
First of all heres kantor with his base finished.

And now for some squads.
First of all the sternguard, first pic is the squad with 5 combi-meltas. Combi-meltas were made using a guide on here somewhere.
The second is a finished squad of sternguard
Third pic is unpainted Tac squad and forth is a finished tac squad
I would have put the pics up of the tanks but as i said, batteries ran out.

Now working on 5 termies atm, finished the cyclone missile launcher. I'll probably put a pic up tomorrow morning if i remember.

Nice to see more progress. Shame you've not got any photos of the tanks yet still they'll be worth the wait.

I'm digging those snowy bases, they do look good with that color scheme. I love seeing bases with lots of detail like that...each one can be a miniature diorama. Pedro is awesome I want him for my chapter!

Cheers for the great responses. I'm wading through them slowly due to lots of other stuff i'm working on. Fact is, i can't just work on 1 thing at a time.
I should have completed a unit of 10 Empire Knights of the Blazing Sun by now but i got distracted by a night goblin shaman and undercoating the rest of my fists (thats a good thing).
Actually i undercoated and Base coated all my tanks Necron Abyss, so pretty much red and hilighting to do on the tanks now and 2 more units. I'll probably get distracted back to my fists soon if i start winning a few games with them. I think i've only lost once so far, and that was against a anti tank guard army with 2 devildogs in it. Anyways i may have a few pics up again in the next few weeks.

unfortunately 5th edition isn't too friendly to vanilla marines, unless you have tons of multi-meltas
