Wow, someone really likes Lion Chariots

. Well, not to say that they’re bad, but it does seem a little excessive to have that many. I understand that you’re probably aiming for a fluffy White Lions list, but even Korhil wouldn’t mind the employ of regular White Lion infantry, as well as Spearmen and Mages.
Here’re my thoughts:
On Heroes & Lords Selections
Having Korhil on a chariot is fine. By giving him the Chariot, you’re increasing his Toughness to 4, his wounds to 4 (effectively), and his Movement to 8. That being said, he’s only a Hero, which means you still have possible point allocation to a Lord. In this case, I would recommend an Archmage, upgraded to Level 4, with a Silver Wand and Talisman of Preservation. It’ll give him access to 5 spells of any Lore (or 6 if you pick High Magic), and a 4+ Ward Save. I’m pretty sure fluff wise, Korhil wouldn’t be opposed to have one along his side.
Also, since Korhil is 270 points on a Chariot, it still leaves you with 230 points for another Hero. My suggestion would be to get a Noble with a
BSB in there. Arm him with a Great Weapon, Armor of Caledor, and Guardian Phoenix. Along with the
BSB, that’ll be 168 points.
BSB’s play a big part in this game, and it’s almost a staple unit to be put in every list in Fantasy.
On Core Selections
Sea Guard are,
IMHO, not really worth their points. Considering that the majority of your list is geared towards charging forward into combat quickly, their shooting capabilities will not be as effective as you might think. The same goes for Archers. If your Chariots are going to be moving forward from the get-go, then it’s likely that at least 1 or 2 will be providing cover for your enemy target. My suggestion would be to go with a horde block of Spearman of 50 (5 rows by 10 columns), with full command and a War Banner. That’ll add up to 495 points, so if you keep the game at a 1980 point total, you’ll be fine. Or, just add another Spearmen for 9 points, and you’ve got a 2000 point game.
However, if you insist on going with the Sea Guard and Archers, then I would recommend you take the Full Command out of the Archer unit. Leave them with a Musician, since you’ll likely need to move and swift reform at times, but don’t bother with a Standard or Hawkeye.
On Special Selections
Definitely get yourself a group of White Lion infantry. Give them Full Command, and either a Banner of Eternal Flame, Banner of Swiftness, or Ranger’s Standard. Banner of Eternal Flame would help greatly against things that can Regenerate, and the other 2 will help get you into
CC quicker.
I would also consider dropping a Lion Chariot or 2. Having 2 in the list, I feel is plenty, especially when one of them has Korhil on it. And if you do decide to bring White Lion infantry, you’ll likely have to drop at least one for the points.
On Rare Selections
I’ll say the same thing here as I did about your Archers and Sea Guard, concerning your Repeater Crossbows. They don’t seem to add much to the list, when your list seems to be rushing into
CC. Sure, you might be able to shoot at a unit or 2 during the first turn or two, but once your enemies get locked up in
CC, your
RBT’s will have no targets left. And at 100 points each, that’s a lot of points to be sitting around doing nothing.
Great Eagles, on the other hand, are a worthy addition. Being Flyers, they can easily maneuver themselves into a Charge on an enemy’s Flank, and they’re usually the best answer against enemy War Machines. 3 may be a little excessive, but if you find them that useful in that amount, go with it.
Finally, my comments are meant for you to reflect on both lists, not just one. Personally, I like your first list better because it has a lot more depth, but that being said, you only changed a few things between them. Also, I may be wrong, but your second list may not be a legal list. You might want to refer to the
BRB and see how many duplicates of Special units you can have at 2000 points. I don’t have the
BRB in front of me, but it is worth checking to see if you can have that many White Lion Chariots in the first place.
Good luck!
