In the Dark Angels codex it gives hints of Jonson returning, will this ever be covered in a codex update or book?

Most likely not. GW has fixed the time line where it's at and doesn't want to move it forward. If they did have Jonson return then all the others would demand their primarchs too. . .

Well to be fair anythignis possible - except maybe Squats
A number of things were thought impropable, unlikely or even impossible -
In depth novels covering the whole of the Horus Heresy
Dark Eldar Codex
New races - Tau, Necrons
Plastic Stompers and Baneblades
so its unlikely but never say never............... a couple of the other Primarchs could awaken or come back (Russ, Calgar etc) and some of course are now Daemon Princes and pop up now and again to cause havoc but I guesss you are thinking of the loyalist ones.

Except Clagar isn't a primarch...
The thing is 40k need to have all races balanced albeit in different ways.
So they won't bring back any primarchs or people like them.

According to last codex, the Golden Throne is Irrepairably damaged and tech adepts trying to repari it but it will slowly dying. so according to this, Empreror might be dead in few centuries,
(it seems GW will do it ) and a new era begins... Some say that the emperor will become anew as a new reincarnation etc... And final fight will begins against chaos and italsol bind to an Eldar Prohpecy:
When the Time bonds fates forever,
The Wolf and Lion came together
When The eye looks back ever,
Worlds will tear asunder..

The game'll forever be stuck in the 41st millenium, and only work back from there, never forward-the Armageddon campaign was set in M41.999 and that was how many years ago? Anyhow, Johnson's laying crippled at the heart of the rock in an unopenable chamber, so unless anyone's got a convenient new body for him, I doubt it (we don't even know if he was a good guy or a traitor). ^^

A quick look at the C: SM and the GW website shows us that Calgar has several models and rules.
The problem is that yer you could add primarchs to SM and CSM, but that means that two codices now have super high power models (if they aren't alot of people will ) and what do the other codices get apart from a lag on codex updates.
The only way primarchs will get rules/official models is if GW release a special Warhammer Great Crusade

Yeah, I guy who occasionally shows up at my local has been building an ensemble of the Primarches, and the fluff rules that he came up with, while fitting, essentially made them some of the beardiest models in the game. If GW ever was make the rules for one of these models it would surely be for a one off game or the like, they're just too powerful-and a hell to make. ^^

Exactly, they are too important to waste on a single chapter. If any of them came back then they would be leading major crusade forces akin to the larger expedition fleets of the Great Crusade. They're not designed for skirmish games as they should be able to kill entire table top armies on their own.

They could release individual stats for Apocalypse games I guess. Angron, Mortarion, Fulgrim and Magnus were in Epic after all.

It would be cool for them to do. If they ever got round to a new DA codex they could in theory have luther and astelian (cant find my books to spell his mane right) escape the rock or cypher turns up and he isnt the bad guy after all and has the lion sword fixed n what not, but in all honesty GW wouldnt do it i dont think.
Maybe if the company was failing and it was going to close they may do a final set of stuff like the big E comes back all the good P's and bad oens come to a final mega war, the orks go on the ultimate waaagh and all the other fluff comes to the near conclusions they hint at. But having a named winner, is impossible, i think it would be the person who has the army that wins in a game that being the climax so to speak. Again very doubtfull any of that would happen.

I do indeed mean him - my brain just failed - I hate getting old
They might just be able to fit them into the Apocalypse rules - but they would be extremely high points cost - but then you can field Titans
