I am thinking about using Calgar and his Honour Guard, mainly because of the models (I would love to try and convert up his LAnd Raider as well, looks really really nice)

Basically what i want to know, is what point level is he 'best at' (I would be looking at 1500 points mainly, is he a complete waste at that level?)
How does he work in game, is he best assaulting on his own, and sending the Honour Guard off at their own target? etc etc
Any tactical advice you could give me would be great.

That's a lot of bling to bring to one table, and it's simply not worth it unless you're going to be doing apocalypse. Honour Guard just cost too much for what you get, Assault Terminators are just better.

Maybe if you take 1 honor guard squad. just be careful the problem with these guys is they have no invul saves and they are men't for CC and if they get stuck into CC with Terminators or anything with power weapons they become a waste of points. at most use 1 squad with calgar.

Calgar is a beast however you want to look at him but he is an expensive one D= and with the honor guard even more so.

use them as your knock out blow against weaker hq/elites if you throw them against something of equal CC ability you waste them.
and they are a big chunk of points for 1500. but why not? its fun/cool and it can still cause a ton of damage if used right.

Take Calgar with Ass Termies, they'll perform so much better than Honour Guard.

If you get calgar his terminator armour it comes with a teleport homer. Perhaps you can use it to teleport in more temrinators?

Maybe Khan for FC too, but that's even more points. I personally love the honor guard models and idea behind them, but it doesn't quite pan out correctly, Also the only unit in C:SM that can take all relic blades.
