Ok folks, heres what Im getting at...Im looking for some walkers. Something in the size of SM dreads or Warmachine jacks. Something 28mm scale compatible. Say around the 2 to 2.5 inches tall range. Preferably more scifi than steampunk.
I would go with those listed above but Im having a hard time getting over the proportions, esp on the SM dreads. I just cant stand the undersized legs. The Warmachine jacks are better, but Im looking for something more futuristic looking.
Ive done a good bit of searching, but I figured Id ask here and see what you guys toss up. Feel free to post either pics or links.

I have some of the AT-43 Red Blok walkers. The smaller ones, Kolossus type. The Nakovalny ones would be great but they have been OOp for a good while, and ebay is yielding none. Its a bummer too since the other Red Blok stuff is on ebay for cheap...I got my Kolossus boxes for as low as $5 each.
Hell Ill use SM dreads if someone has a good source for proper proportioned legs.

Im well aware of the Dust line. Too old. Im looking for something more futuristic.
At this point the 2 choices in the lead are:
SM dreads w converted legs. I like the body and all the weapon options, but I need a good source for better (taller) legs. Nothing spindly like sentinel legs, need to be in proportionate bulk to the body.
OR
Warmachine warjacks with some modernization. Basically some updated guns (prob from 40k) and change out the steam engines for something more future tech. Also some little bits like more wires & tubes etc.
Ive also looked into the Heavy Gear strider models. Only problem there is cost, between $30 and $45 each, leaves them a bit more expensive than the other options.
Anyhow thanks for any and all ideas and keep em coming.

Seriously though, this BOW video might help: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FrSjAdfebAc
It's about the different walkers of different games and their comparative sizes. Hope that helps.

Nice find and interesting watch...but Im looking for things I havent seen or considered before. Warmachine, GW, AT-43 are all mainstream games. Im looking for something Ive never seen before. Might be a tall order, since Im pretty active in the minis scene and keep up on a good amount of minis sites.
There is one thing you all might be able to help with...anyone ever removed the jump jets from a Tau suit? Id be interested to see that...
EDIT: The Mechwarrior clix style game would have been perfect size if the mechs werent so terribly done.

Armorcast made 3 28mm Battletech resin models...Atlas, Madcat, & Vulture. I have the Madcat and Atlas (check my gallery). However, they are huge. The Atlas is 10 inches tall, The Madcat over 8.

You mean how much did it cost? Both were pretty expensive. They went OOP in Dec 2008, I got them about March 2009 on ebay. I dont remember exactly but I know the Atlas went over $300 (US), and the Madcat over $200. Ill say $600 together, give or take $25.
If you find any for sale grab them. Armorcast lost the license for them in Dec 2008 and they are getting very hard to find, especially new in the box.
