Since posting my last list, and after talking to a bunch of people about the sort of list I was going for and explaining the sort of theme/concept I was going for (among other humorous rants) its been decided that I would more or less like to go for a dragon themed army.

It seems as though this list would play with a Star Dragon (if points allow for it) Dragon Mages, Dragon Princes, Swordmasters (I suppose they don't technically fit the theme but they are too cool!) and still trying to incorperate the Shadow Warriors and Great Eagles to deal with the pesky warmachines!

I honestly don't know how well a Dragon heavy army would fare, as I reckon it would be a HUGE point sink put into just characters, but it could be a really cool army to play that has potential.

How would everyone go about making a "Dragon Heavy" army for 3250? And maybe even 2500? I don't know how good Dragon Princes are anymore, or even what the best way to run them is. And It seems that trying to take 3 dragons (Prince on Star Dragon and 2 Dragon Mages) is just a ridiculous amount of points, taking up anywhere from 1300-1500 points. I would love to fit the Swordmasters in there of coarse but there just doesn't seem to be enough points for it.

I would post a list up but honestly, I haven't come up with anything that has completely satisfied me, so I look to you all for wisdom and help!

3250 is the new 2500?

I suppose it depends on where you play. Where I play, we tend to play either 2500 or 3250. Alot of people think its a wierd number but 7th was 2250 so oh well

Wow, that's interesting that people play that number in your area I had the same reaction at first! But it's all about matching what people play near you!

I think, with the modelling I've seen you do, you could go more for a dragon theme through your conversions, rather than just unit choices.

For example, if you want a lion chariot, you can have flesh hounds pulling it instead of lions (they look very dragon-like to me). Similar for the swordmasters... some sort of dragon on their helmets?

A dragon and dragon princes, and especially a dragon mage, are not the strongest of HE units in 8th from what I can tell (dragon mages never were) but could be viable if your whole force is fast and hard-hitting, imho. Jin can probably say a bit more as he's been using dragon princes! Although they haven't beat face too much from what I've seen.

Anyway, that's my feedback... that you could pull this off from a modelling perspective more than a unit one, if you like. Obviously, a dragon needs to be included, but after that I'd say everything's fair game!
