I was interested in buying and converting the SM Bike Squad Box to Dark Angel Ravenwing bikers. I wanted 2 of them to have Meltaguns and I was wondering if they came with Meltagun attachments for the bike on the sprue? Or are these Meltaguns that the actual person is holding and it's not loaded on the bike?

Thanks.

I would suggest you just buy the Raven Wing Bike squad, it's cheaper then the SM bikes, and both have three bikes. But I can't say what options are in each box...

Ya I just saw that and I think I'm going that route. I still need to know though what comes in the box and if I can do 2x bikes with meltas. If the meltas are on the bikes itself or if the person is holding it. I can do it if the person is holding it since I have extra melta guns here but if it's a bike mounted melta...not sure...

I think the Melta's are just normal hand held ones. The Bike always has the twin-linked bolters.

The special weapons are hand held - they replace the biker's bolt pistol.

The SM bike sprue has the biker holding both handlebars and no optional arms. The box of three has three metal upper bodies - bare head with sword, meltagun & plasma gun.

The raven wing box doesn't have the bodies but it does have a raven wing sprue - you get a load of DA bits, a couple of sword arms, two assault cannons, a typhoon missile launcher and some other bits. http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat1400016&prodId=prod900139a

How do most people say that 2 guys have Meltaguns then since the hands are holding the handle bars? Do they just say "these count as meltagun guys"??

I cut my biker's hans off at the wrist and repositioned them. Now they can hold onto either a melta, plasma or flamer.
The other arm is holding onto the bike.

As Scott-S6 said, there is a metal torso in the squad box that is holding a meltagun in one hand.

Otherwise, the arms on the plastic riders are separate pieces. So if you want to give them special weapons, you just swap one of the arms for an arm holding the weapon.

That, or strap the weapon to the back of the bike.

I've also seen conversions where the melta replaced the bike's bolters that looked good. I think the Chaos amrine bike squad comes with pieces for this

Awesome thanks for the ideas guys. Scot did say it comes with a metal torso with one of the guys holding a melta but he was talking about the SM Squad bikes I think. I'm thinking of getting the Ravenwing bikes.

The ravenwing bike set comes with all sorts of wierd bits but no special weapons.

Not hard to modify them to hold a meltagun. I like to use a bolter arm (the one that holds the bolter with the muzzle high) so the biker ends up holding it across his body resting on the arm that's holding the handlebars.

just a suggestion but the ravenwing battleforce might be a good buy if you are looking to get a full squad (box has a speeder, 6 bikers, attack bike + 3 upgrade sprues)

If it does provide meltas (which I dont think it does), they are the hand held variety.

As above, the ravenwing upgrade sprue has no meltaguns.

Bikers should have handheld meltaguns, the meltagun replaces their bolt pistol - not the twin-linked bolters on the bike.
