To clarify: This is not about firing INTO multi-level ruins.

My question is: Can units with barrage weapons (such as biovores) shoot barrage weapons OUT of multi-level ruins or multi-level buildings in general? Do they require line of sight or (in the case of ruins) require a window or door to do so? RAW-wise I haven't been able to find any rules restricting firing barrage weapons inside ruins, but I figure it must have come up at least once somewhere.

I know they can generally shoot without los, it just seems incredibly...weird... that they can apparently blast through several stories with no apparent damage to anything above them.

Yeah...I asked this question before since I also found it strange. But it's a point in favour of biovores and such.

Ruins are area terrain. The entire point of area terrain is that it is partially abstracted.

A lot of the rules are incredibly weird if you stop and think about them. Just think a moment about the range of those barrage weapons. They really can only fire a few hundred feet? Lots of things in 40k are strange when you stop and think about them. If it makes you fell better, just remember that ruins are...ruined. So there are a lot of holes in them which allow shooting through holes in the roof.

Why does my eldar army run three fire prisms? Because the rules wont let me use four in (regular 40k).
