Hi,
Harry confirmed that Tomb Kings will be released this year:
The book has been being written for a little less than 12 months. So when they started writing it 8th edition was finished .... so TK will be written with full knowledge of 8th edition.
However, I decision was made at some point to make the 8th edition books a good bit fatter that the current books.
I am not sure at what point this book was at when this decision was made but it is possible that they decided they needed to add some more stuff to 'embellish' the book that was already in the pipeline.
However none of this changes my assumption that we will see this 'new style' book this side of September. (as planned)
He and Darniok also confirmed that there will be no Ogre Kingdom release this year. Harry also confirmed that there is no further Fantasy release within 6 months except the Warhammer expansion for summer:
Harry wrote:There isn't much to report (beyond the O&G which we did to death months ago) within the next six months..... Elfboy wrote:We get something new and exciting this summer... a summer release that would be exciting for all the warhammer armies, and that this release was bringing back something from the past.
.... Except for this .... Which is quite exciting.

Hope they get a nice wide release. Any update of the skeletons to match the VC ones (in terms of scale) means pretty much the entire range will need doing.

Unless the book is bound in human flesh and inked in blood I'm not interested.
If they are going to make the Warhammer books have more background and content in general (or even hardback) then a Necronmocon Exmortis cover would rock.

Seems cool but also sounds like a way to say "We realize we're totally dropping the ball on warhammer momentum.. so lets try to milk profits from the stuff we do actually release"
I imagine these "fatter" books will be what, 35$? 50$ and hardback only? So by September we'll have nearly 1.5 years into the new edition.. and 2 books? nice

Are they assuming that a new edition is enough to reinvigorate everyone's interest in their FB armies?
I don't think I've seen as much buzz about FB online in fifteen years as I did about this edition but they don't seem to have planned any sort of consistent follow through with army books.

No kidding!
But I've also seen a fair amount of backlash in my area in regards to the direction 8th edition has taken.
A lack of new Army books has only caused this to intensify too...
