Though I'm an IG player, my first army was Tau, and I still have most of it. I never quite had a good grasp on how to play them and fit out suits properly so I grew tired of them. However, after reading up on Tau tactics, I'm curious if I could put my models to use.

I know the first bit of advice is going to be 'Get Kroot!'. I see the value in Kroot and their usefulness but I honestly loathe the models so much that the thought of painting them and playing them on a table makes me nauseous. Fire warriors grab the Pathfinders' rides. Lemme know if this is remotely competitive.
*Note* I didn't write in the HW Drone controller on the team leaders because its free.

Dude, I like this list... a lot.
My only gripe at all is that it would be nice if you could get the points for more broadsides...
You don't need to "GET KROOT!!" I often don't unless I know that there is going to be woods. And for kroot bubble-wrap, I prefer gun-drones. You can make the units smaller, and so when they are wiped out you aren't loosing as many points. They are also able to move faster than kroot, so you can move them to the desired location quite quickly.
