For a modeling project I'm trying to find something like the pegs for the flying bases, the clear plastic ones, but longer; does such a thing exist? Should I even bother trying to glue a couple end-to-end?

Look up any local plastics store. In Oregon we found rods at Tap Plastics for example.

Dragons fear nothing, if it acts up, we breath magic fire that turns them into marshmallow peeps. We leaguers only cry rivets!

Acrylic rod should be easy to find at any decent model shop, up to 1/4" diameter. Larger than that becomes a little harder to find.

Are you just trying to repair/replace bases or is it something else?

1/8" acrylic rod is fairly common if you have a plastics place nearby (needs only a slight mod to the base end to fit into a normal 'flying base' - holes are slightly under 3mm).

Go up to 5 or 6.5mm if needed. Don't go too long or the LOS rules will just give you a bad day. The main issues with GWs stems is that they a) taper, and b ) the ends that go into the models and the bases are smaller still.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.

It's for a custom model I'm doing. Making an aquatic Zoanthrope, but the stem needs to extend further, and likely hold up a little more weight.

Thanks for the ideas, all. I'll check those out.

Hunted around a bit online (no plastic stores in my area), and found a couple places, but most sell it in 6' lengths.
Does anyone have experience with extruded acrylic? Is it easy enough to cut? Trying to figure out if I can get it down to couple-inch pieces easily enough?

Easily cut with a Razor Saw.

How much do you need? If the 1/8" will do I can mail you some.
