Gladius is probably one of my favorite RPG's of all time. The story was crap, the voice work atrocious, and the Characters bland and uninspired, but the gameplay. The gameplay went above and beyond and kept me playing the game for somewhere in the area of 400 hours over the years. About the only thing I could ever say against it would be that the classes were not well balanced (which wasn't much of an issue in a mostly SP experience) and that the AI could of been less dumb.

My favorite classes were the Murmillo for just how awesome the Murmillo's were, and I was rather fond of Secutors, Bears (both these class were strong on their own, but with some OP items became nigh unstoppable if played right), and Gungnirs as well.

So, am I the only person who played what Game Informer has aptly called the best game no one will ever play?

In your base, ignoring your logic.

Centurions, load them up with some poison sack shields or mirror shields and give them some room.

The main protagonist wasn't as strong as the secondary protagonist( doing the romanesque story) though so when he left my team was pretty bad off, especially when he took the hammer of doom with him.

I did. I beat it but it got a bit tedious after a while. Wouldn't mind seeing a sequel.

The best part of the game would have to be the final boss. My brother had this one centurion that he absolutely loved to use so the guy was high leveled. Well in the final battle he was killed and my brother found out that his death was going to be permanent, the look on his face was amazingly delightful.

Not only did I play it, I still own a copy of it.

Amidst the mists and coldest frosts he thrusts his fists against the posts and still insists he sees the ghosts.

I have three. Gamecube, XBox, and PS2 lol. I owned the systems in that order and got Gladius for all of them.

First off, the game is awesome! The Roman hero was likable. The female lead was likable. It's one of the few games that let you change your hero's skin tone!!! My fav class was the undead summoner. Next was the sytar. His crowd dance was fun and his jug boink was golden. the Big human class (I forget the name) female was a long time fav for me, I called her big mama. Also had a wolf named Rabies. Did you know that the game is co-op? too bad it didn't have ssquare-enix tacked on to it somewhere.

And whilst you're pointing and shouting at the boogeyman in the corner, you're missing the burglar coming in through the window.

Well, Duh! Because they had a giant Mining ship. If you had a giant mining ship you would drill holes in everything too, before you'd destory it with a black hole
