Ok, so base is basically done, a little touch up here an there and assembly is just finished.

Paint wise it will be matched to my Necron army (pictures in my gallery) but with a little extra highlights and weathering.







Any tips on how to attach it to the base once it's done? Any other critique would be nice as well.

That base is awesome! How was the spider- assembly wise? Looks like you've done a good job

You poor sod, I hear those things are one of the hardests things to ever assemble. It would be tricky, but i think that pinning is your best bet for strength

The build was actually not that bad I stabiliszed the back pieces with a paperclip as can be seen in this very early WiP.



Then I "secured" the four first legs with blue tac to have a refererence point on the base and then I just added piece after piece, the only tricky part was to add the mini legs that go between the proper legs. I should have added them as I went along instead of adding them afterwards but it worked anyway.

Right now the model is primed and drying in my paint booth.

So finally an update, paint is about 50% done but now i's possible to get an idea of what it will look like so I thought I should post.





The colour scheme is like the rest of my crons, red gore and bolt gun metal. Any questions or comments?

I think it looks very nice. Nice paintjob too! And wow, what a beautiful model. Can't wait to see it finished!

How ya getting the fine lines on the edges done?

Where is best for small brushes? Michaels Craft Store?

So I'm finally finished, gloss varnish ran out in the middle and since this is critical to the red finish I had to wait for a new delivery. I'm pretty satisified even though I made some mistakes that I haven't bothered correcting. Critique and comments? Fire away!

Seeing as he lives in Europe he probably doesn't even have a Michael's. Do some googling, I'm sure in about 30 seconds you can find all about good brushes

WoW! Very nice! Like the OSL and the weathering. I also notice that you where unable to reproduce the same quality you have on the old minis in your cron army. This one if faaaar better. ; ) Looking forward to blow it away...

Stunningly painted mini, loving the crashed speeder is that a kit or did you make it?

The crashed speeder is just a standard plastic LS rouchly hacksawed at an angle to make a flat bottom that would attach to the base. Then sand is built up on top of some spare bases to make small dunes where it crashed.

That's brilliant, the only possible gripe is that the green rod in the gun looks out of place (GW's fault rather than yours I might add). A red one would set it off nicely if it could be found.

Looks great. I really like the subtle OSL around the eyes. Really makes them stand out more than if they had been just 'plainly' painted.
