Subject: Noob asking about Space Marine Bikers!!

Hey guys I got a few question about Space Marine bikers. First is about the rules, if the biker moves at Cruising speed (12 inchs) he can fire 1 weapon plus all defensive weapons so that means a normal biker armed with a bolt pistol and twin linked bolters can fire both his weapons?? Also I want to equip my bikes for taking out tanks so I was thinking of having 2 bikers with meltas and an attack bike with a multi-melta, but what should I give my sergeant, originally I was thinking a power fist for assaulting a tank, but now I'm thinking that might be a bit over kill. Then I started to think maybe a power weapon but wouldn't it be a waste of points if they don't plan on getting in cc????

Bikes are not vehicles, they have no defensive weapons or main weapons. Bikes can move 12 inches and shoot as if they didn't move. They can only fire one weapon per rider, so an attack bike can fire two weapons. The rules are detailed on page 53.
I'm not sure what the sergeant can gear himself with, but if possible, a plasma pistol is a good option for a shooty bike squad attempting to tank hunt.

Powerfists on biker sergeants are pretty great, actually.
They can really run up on tanks, many of which have AV10 in the back!

For tank hunting, two guys with melta guns and a MM attack bike are usually good. I normally don't sink points into the sarge unless AV 14 is expected. In that case, a single land raider still pays for the squad alone. For hunting heavy infantry, two plasma guns, a combi-plasma on the sarge, and your choice of attack bike.
