Hi i'm from the Southern New Jersey area and i was looking for a person to play this game with/club/someone to show me the ropes also i am interested in making a chaos undivided army and need someone with experience in anyone of the armies to help give me advice, or some tips also. I hate nids and necrons due to the brokenness of them and i want to learn to maximize the best strategies i can to work around their broken rules lol. I already have some troops from my slaanesh and khorne army i call bloody pleasure (Yes feel free for all the period jokes you want lol) just looking for some advice now hopefully i'll get feedback

Hey man, i'm located in south philly which isn't to far. You have a GW right in voorhees at the echelon village, or if you're up for a drive, showcase comics over here in PA is pretty awesome.
If you're into chaos undivided I'd suggest taking a look at the black legion http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Black_Legion
as far as broken armies the necrons are broken, but broken in a bad way. You shouldn't have to much trouble with a standard chaos army build defeating some necrons.
The nids can be powerful but generally are regarded as a pretty balanced army. Good ways to beat them are flamers, large blast templates and such.
good luck!

thanks i tend to have alot of good luck when it comes to rolling i been holding my own against a friends necrons by using my masque to eternal dance them into my skulltaker and daemonettes to slaughter them only bad thing is he gangs up shooting at a range on my daemon prince and masque so i cant hurt him but other than that i use my slaanesh to engage in combat and use my bloodletters to finish them off but i need more strategies cause i'm pretty basic lol

Juggernauts shouldn't have to much a problem catching them. Use soul grinders in the back field to pound away. Tzeetch heralds on chariots would be could for chasing down destroyers. For troops use flamers to spam shooting or nurlge to hold objectives and tie them up till the juggers get stuck in. What models do you have?

Make a right past the Eye of Teror...no a left...wait a right!

I would also recommend the GW store in Voorhees, Showcase Comics in the Granite run Mall (and their other store near Villanova) and The GW store in NE Phila.

OP: I work pretty close to you, but its a good ways from home. I'd happily throw down with my wolves, but we'd need a place to play...
I live down in Swedesboro so the GW store is inconvenient for me, but could be arranged. Showcase seems nice, but Saturdays are too busy to be a reasonable option for a game day. I've been playing at Alternate Universe in Holmes on Wednesday nights, but that is not very close to you.

Unless we just open up the bunker and let folks use the other 25 tables.)

Seriously, we don't have a space problem, and it's never too busy. The Bryn Mawr store is also a decent spot if you need a late night. We close at 9pm, but host a game night until 1am to 2am most weeks. About an even split between Warmahordes and Warhammer.

....and lo!.....The Age of Sigmar came to an end when Saint Veetock and his hamster legions smote the false Sigmar and destroyed the bubbleverse and lead the true believers back to the Old World.

Not a slander on your shop... I meant my Saturdays are too busy to be a regular game day.

np, I misread that. And a couple of years ago, we did have problems with space. 6 tables wasn't enough when you had guys showing up to play and having to wait on table space.
Eased that with the 2 more tables at the mall, basement gaming at the other store, and then the bunker with a boatload more space.

Oddly, wednesday nights at the Bryn Mawr store are now packed. Mike Ludwig is working part time for me now, and just keeps the store open until 2am for gaming. I think we had about 17 people for Warmachine and a dozen for Warhammer last week.

Showcase is right outside philly. Great place, huge area to game in

The GW in Philly is a bit cramped, I could see that having problems in terms of space

The GW Voorhees, which should be fairly close to you has a good 9~ tables, great staff (Well one guy who's awesome) and you can get a 40k pick up game any day in the wednesday-sunday they are open. They have a facebook group as well if you want to jump in and see they players. Just look for "GW-Boorhees" on FB. Has about 40-50 people on it

I'll recommend the GW over in Voorhees as well. Very good manager who plays the games and knows the hobby.

I agree, both the GW store in Vorhees and the Showcase Comics are both great places to play. The Manager at GW is a great guy and its nice to go in there and not have employees hanging over your shoulder as you try to look around the store. There's always a few people in there and I assume you can easily get a pick up game going.

Personally I prefer Bryn Mawr. Try going on a Wed night. They stay open late and the guys there are great.

Let me further the recommendations for GW Vorhees, it's a great place to play. There are almost always events going on, Just last Saturday I literally got 4, 1850 games in one day, now I call that a good day. Mike is great, and there's a really nice community there as well. There is also The Comic Book Shop in glassboro off of 55, but That's probably a hike for you if your only 30 minutes from the GW store. They play some Thursdays and most Saturdays, but they're primarily a magic store. I'm an old basement gamer my self, and if my table wasn't preoccupied with a ton of boxes I would gladly host a game and help you learn 5th edition. As for Nids being broken, most people really don't complain about nids anymore, it's Dark Eldar Space Wolves and blood angels I hear the most griping about. Some codexes are really tough but you just have to tailor a list to the armies weaknesses. And if you think any of these armies are bad if the necron rumors are true concerning their next dex we'll be looking at toughness 5 and feel no pain warriors! Even Nurgle we'll probably lose his fearsome reputation to the necrons if that turns out to be accurate.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Oh and Necrons have a terrible time with feel no pain, they don't have many weapons that can negate it. I would suggest plague marines if you have them.

Greetings all!

I'm sure this keg (thread) has been kicked, but I'm new to Dakka Dakka and stumbled upon this thread.

I live in the SJ area (East Greenwich, Gloucester County). I haven't played much 40k since 2nd/3rd edition, but I recently rejuvenated by Nids/Blood Angels and was looking to play. My nephew and I built a solid 8x4 table in the basement, and I'm putting together a decent collection of terrain. Anyone interested to playing, hit me up via the thread, PM, or email.

I'm a little rusty rules wise, but nothing I can't shake off with a few games.

I'm familiar with GW Echeleon and both Showcase Comics locations (both excellent IMO), but two critters and wife aggro make sneaking out for gaming...interesting at times.

Cheers
