can a unit in a transport shoot a separate unit then the transport their in?

transport shoots unit A, can embarked troops shoot unit B?

this seams like it would be the case but I've been playing it wrong if it is. so I wanted to ask for what you guys think and what rules you can cite to support either decision.

Are they the same unit?
Page 3 says they arent, meaning the restriction on a unit all shooting the same target is not applicable.

And if they were the same unit the transport wouldn't be able to move faster than the slowest model...

GW Main rules FAQ, read it, learn it, love it. They're separate units and can shoot at separate targets.

its alot of pts but, storm shields, bikes, opthecarie, pretty nasty
