Ok this is my first RPG on Dakka so well see how it goes

Here’s a bit of fluff, in the year 2085 a lot has changed some years previous (about 30) a plague of unknown origins swept over the planet, but instead of killing its victims it simply puts them in to a state of catatonic almost "time frozen" sleep, these victims were placed underground in huge extended vaults, in the hope that one day they would wake up again, the survivors of the plague were few, over 3/4 of the world population was "stored" in the underground vaults.

So the survivors, about 1.5 billion people joined together in the middle of Europe in a gigantic city state, the republic of Victus, as it became was filled with people of all nationalities. Cultures and religions clashed until one day a senator was visited by the image of a huge locked concrete door, one of the doors of the underground vaults.

An exploration team was sent down to the near forgotten vaults to open it and see if people were finally waking up. The vault, situated over the remains of southern France, was supposed to hold just under a million people. It was completely empty. Immediately exploration and recovery teams were sent to othe vaults across the globe, only to find every single one empty, bar one man. This man had lost his memory completely but had startling precognitive abilities and was completely blind deaf and mute. He could only communicate through a neural interface device that allowed his brain to think thoughts to a computer screen.

This man came to be known as the oracle and was placed under intensive care in an old cathedral of the Christian faith, over time the people of Victus began to worship the man as a near god, and the Cult of the wandering eye was formed, slowly the religion spread across the city until all people were under the influence of this (apparently) god like figure.

All was well in the Republic of Victus for several years, and although the missing sleepers were looked for, they were never found, and gradually the senate lost intrest in them.


They were however not lost entirely.


This game places you in the shoes of one of the citizens of Victus.
Because the republic of Victus required no military only a police force has been maintained, however mercenaries still exist and unless you specifically request otherwise players will play as a mercenary for simplicity.
There are 6 main "classes: to choose from:

The grunt
Your stock standard fighter thrown into the front lines of combat

The leader,
Charismatic and intelligent, attempts to stay out of the line of fire until he (or she) is needed, but when they do get into combat they deal lots of damage on key targets

The Tank
A heavy weapons support unit excelling with heavy repeater weapons

The Sniper
Far away from everything the sniper calmly picks his (or her) targets off one by one.

The Engineer
Specializing in explosives and close combat, the engineer can take out most targets.

The Medic
Unused to fighting but can bring to bear some close combat weaponry if needed, the medic is there for y’all idiots that get y’selfs shot.

Oh by the way: weapons

Rifle weapons:
ESB caster: ESB stands for electrostatic bolt, this is a hunk of metal that reforms in mid-air into a viable bullet, the electrostatic discharge at the impact of the weapon can shut down the nervous system in the immediate area of the hit. Because of the nature of the weapon any small piece of metal may be fired from the weapons chamber.

Clutch rifle: This weapon fires a small trio of darts which inject a cocktail of toxins into the target which once mixed in the bloodstream cause and explosive reaction

SSLU: SSLU stands for Sub Sonic Linear Unit, this weapon is a stripped down version of the larger VIPW or Velocity Inducing Projectile Weapon, the SSLU fires a 50cm rod of carbon that upon impact disintegrates into atomic size. The rifle is completely silent to fire and can launch the rod at great range, it also incorporates a range-lock scope that can pinpoint targets even in low visibility. The weapon is essentially a sniper rifle.

Assault rifles and smg’s

ESB Repeater: a slightly larger version of its original pattern the ESB repeater boasts a 20 round clip that can fire in under 4 seconds, a single fire mode is also available, the clip is reloaded by feeding small chunks of metal into its conversion port.

Plas Repeater: A pattern of the pistol that holds 30 rounds and will empty in 2 and a half seconds

Pistols

Clutch pistol: A smaller version of its rifle pattern the concoction of the clutch pistol tends to be slightly less potent than its cousin because of size, however it is far more compact.



Plas Pistol: This weapon heats a metallic substance to near plasma levels and ejects it at speed via electromagnetic force, due to its immense power requirements the weapon may take time to recharge. Its larger version incorporates a heater clip that allows for rapid firing, however the weapon then must have its own store of ammo whereas the pistol version constructs ammunition automatically via mineral traces in the air.

Shotguns:
MPP: The multiple Pellet Projector (or MPP) fires several razor sharp pellets of iron, using electromagnetic forces. These pellets are quite capable of wrecking the armour of most infantry enemies.

Clutch burster: this weapon fires small grenades which release miniature versions of the Clutch rifles ammunition. However rather than the usual cocktail the toxins are simply lethal and will cause paralysis of the heart and brain in 5 minutes.

Heavy Machineguns:
Heavy Plas repeater: The largest version of the “Plas” family this weapon is quite capable of shearing through a tank with its superheated rounds. It boasts a foldaway tripod and has a 300 round clip, which it will discharge in 5 seconds.

SSLU minigun: This weapon involves several rotating rails which create and intense electromagnetic charge that can propel several iron rods at terminal velocity. The chain fed tripod mounted weapon is usually quite rare and the ammo even more so.

Shoulder mounted missiles:
VIPW: As afore mentioned this is the big daddy of railclass weapons, the shoulder mounted weapon fires a single rail which splits inflight to reveal a miniature tactical warhead. The radiation is non-existent and its blast radius is contained and funnelled by the directional charge head. This is the ultimate anti-vehicle weapon and can be relied upon to disable or wreck most vehicles and walkers.
There are other weapons which I will introduce as time goes on.


The main objectives in game revolve around capturing renegade sleepers and dealing with “outlanders” people who have been banished from the republic

Sleeper status: No relatives
Appearance: buff, skinhead, ripped jeans, white tank top
Class: Engineer
Weaopns: Clutch Burster, VIPW
Ammo: (please keep track of this) 15 cltch burster shells, (VIPW is one shot)
History: grew up in the streets, learnt to fight for himself using brute strength and close combat wepons.

Name: Jason 'Ice' Morgan
Age: 22
Sleeper status: He's an orphaned only child
Appearance: 7'3"
Class: Tank
Weaopns: VIPW, and Heavy Plas Reeater
Ammo: 3 VIPW missiles, 200 Plas shots.
History: He was into growth drugs when he was younger. He grew huge on a cocktail of testosterone, several types of steroids, and other growth hormones. He got into martial arts, and was good at them. He heard of the possibility of fighting in the Mercenary companies, so he joined one.

Anyway time for me character.

Name: Falco Trax
Age: 19
Sleeper Status: (I'm guessing this is how many relatives are sleepers?) His parents and 2 sisters.
Appearance: Black hoody, jeans, two black thin gloves, a skull mask that he wears all the time.
Class: Oooh, hard one, I guess the closest to Falco is mostprobably the leader.
Weapons: MPP, ESP repeater, and a PLAS pistol. Has a sniper at thier base.
Ammo: Keeps many on him at all times, so mostprobably 10 clips for the ESP repeater, 50 MPP pellets, but he does always keep a large stash of ammo at his base.
History: Falco was a rich boy, with his 2 sisters, one brother called Jason, and his mum and dad. His parents and his sisters were infected by the sleeper virus, but luckily Falco and his brother were unaffected. He could'nt stand having his parents and sisters not around, and him and his brother despised the way the senate dealt with everything, and when the cult was formed they despised that as well. Therefore, they faked thier own deaths, and started an Assassin brotherhood called the dark flame, to try and take down members of the cult and the senate. They recieved around 20 members inculding themselves, and were never seen when taking down a target. One time, because of a clumsy member, the brotherhood was discovered, and all members were killed apart from Falco and Jason, who were presumed dead. Jason however lost an arm, and recieved a mechaincal one to replace it. Falco now wants revenge for the deaths of his Assassins, and will get it by near enough any means.

Sleeper status: No relatives
Appearance:Tshirt jeans, pale face and Blue eyes, high tops
Class: Engineer
Weaopns: Esb Repeater MPP
Ammo: 20 ESB clips 50 MPP shells (tell me if thats too much)
History: Survived what should have been a fatal gun shot to the head. Has recoverd from it with the loss of his memory.

all good all of you ill start the rpg in a sec, Nocturnal im gonna be kind and give you 2 full 300 shot clips rather than 1 half empty one. everyone else, please pay attention to how much ammo you use, it makes the game slightly harder and it adds anouther element, well roll with it for a while but if its getting to much of a bother to keep track of ill just drop the ammo count

Ok heres the deal, this rpg will be run slightly differently, ill need you to post an intro and then i will describe the area your in, you can make desisions based on that.

(when i say intro look at the survive rp for an idea if your stuck)

the terrain directly adjacent to the walled city state is a huge area of commercial farmland, however beyond that alot of the planet is simply ruins, in the year 2085 architecture has turned more futureistic with dome roofs etc, expect to see more metal in structures than wood.

Nope not x men(cant even remember watching any of them)

vehicals broke down all the time and engineers had to repair them, thats just how things work.
But half a convoyof broken down truck 50 miles out from the city was strange especialy seeing as there were no crew.
Gaz's team was comprised of 5 of them
Gary the one who thinks hes a joker
Steve his brother who is the real joker
Dan the smart one
Jake the lazy one
and Gaz
they had been out repairing the vehicals for two days and were starting to get tired of it
when they were done they were supposed to call the pick up team and wait for them to take the convoy back

suddenly a loud cracking sound came from behind the truck Dan was working on.
the rest of the team ran towards the sound weapons raised.
But nothing was there Dan had completely dissapeared......

Name: Log (what my friends call me, short for Lord of the Ghosts)
Age: somewhere around 16
Sleeper status: His mother, father and sister. (really his Grandfather, Grandmother, and Aunt)
Appearance: Victorian Trench coat with a Crimson-red I*F on the back, and a large hood.(Up most of the time) Odd haircut, if you could call it that. Black combat boots, followed by odd pants he made himself. On hard floors his boots make alot of noise. He is only 5'4". He is a Navajo Native American.
Class: Medic!
Weapons: Plasma pistol and a Clutch pistol. Reloads Clutch in three seconds. Wants a MPP, but Falco won't let him. He has two Razor-sharp 12-inch blades he can pull form his Trench coat and pierce one inch metal in a single second.
Ammo: 10 mags for Clutch pistol, but 400 rounds for Clutch hidden in his trench coat.
History: Born without his father, his mother raised him until he was ten. (his mother was 17 when he was born) He learned about his mother's father and mother and sister. They all fought in wars since forgotten by the plague. His mother was kidnapped by a group of thugs and to him, killed. He lived on the streets with the homeless until he trained himself to be faster than his Grandfather, aim better than his Grandmother, and heal others faster than his Aunt. The homeless praised and feared him. He was praised by some because he knew medical treatments better than a few Hospital workers, and feared him for his fighting prowess against thugs and crime. The police hunted him down for five hundred and twelve murders. They let him go because he killed serial killers and the like. They were going to train him, but he escaped. He entered the mercenary group by interest of Falco's Assassin group.

Ammo: Locked in a Mental hospital no ammo
Apperance: Metel mask covers his face. Severel metel ribs
History: Thrown into a Mental hospital , Family has deemed him insane. Delta has seen many horrors through out his life.

Looking around you you scan the terrain. Around these parts there is a light cover of trees and the odd tubmle down house, plenty of hiding places, you have a look behind the truck and you notice evidence of a tussle, no blood but lots of disturbed dirt.

Gary and steve burst into the house and quickly clear it, they notice more scuffed dirt on the floor and a spent MMP cartridge.

Picks up MMP cartridge and says,
"still no blood. Complete miss. Fights, and no bodies..."

Steve looks at you
"sleepers, its got to be"

Vulkan: while outside you notice some tracks leading of away from the convoy, to the right of the house

looking into the trees you notice a slight glinting

epic double post fail

"you lot found anything yet?"

(im gonna assume you lot have radios)

Gaz's radio pipes up, "thrs somethin here, a spent MMP shell but no blood, more disturbed ground as well, it doesnt feel right"

"if theres any footprints or tracks you guys folow them me and jake will look for clues around here"

Turning around you se the glint again. suddenly a sense of foreboding comes upon you as you hear a crackling fizzing sound, unmistakably the loading of an old model Plas rifle

Gaz put his hands up
he knew if he span around weapon drawn he would get shot
He slowly span round to see his attacker...
