Righto i was going to do a Ravenwing list, but many of you have convinced me to do otherwise (dispite my misgivings)
so here it is

KKKKHHHHHHAAAAAANNNNNN!!!11!!!
Wargear: Moondrakken pts 205

Space marine bike sqaud (8)
Wargear: 2 Meltaguns, power sword pts 250

Space marine bike sqaud (8)
Wargear: 2 meltaguns, power sword pts 250

Space marine bike sqaud (8)
Wargear: 2 Meltaguns, power sword pts 250

3 Attack bikes
Multimeltas pts 150

3 Lanspeeder Typhoons pts 270

Scout bikers (4)
Locator beacon, SM grenade launcher (I had 10 pts spare)

When making this list i got kind of miffed, for a hell of a lot less on points (than ravenwing) I get a hell of alot more
AND I can still outflank, Which is part of the plan

The Typhoons will be DSin in near the scout bikers, depending on oponent the army will be all outflanking, IE if i face guard i will outflank
Nids, the whole lot will start on board.

any tips for the list or tactics for it will be very welcome, I am a very good player... but we can all learn more

I'm not sure how many fast attack slots you are filling up. Looks like 2? because you can have attack bikes in your bike squads. If so, split the speeders into one squad of 2 and one of 1, you will get more out of them.

the reason i have chosen not to add them to the bike sqauds is that they will have to shoot at whatever the bikes shoot, i intend the bike as anti light/heavy infantry and the attack bikes anti armour/MC, Although now ithink about it, I can get 2 more MM attack bikes if i drop the scout bikers

I used to run a bike list similar to yours, in that I used to run a lot of models in each Bike Squad. Now though, I've learned that keeping them small and specializing in shooting is what makes them most effective.

That being said, I'd reduce the amount in each bike squad down to 5 models total (Attack Bike included). Give the squad either 2 Meltaguns or 2 Flamers, with a Sgt that has a corresponding Combi-weapon. Give the Attack Bikes Multimeltas as well.

Scout Bikes are, IMHO, not that effective unless used in numerous squads (at least 2). If you take those out, and put the Attack Bikes in the Bike Squads, you can separate the Land Speeders, and have them in each of their own units.

As a gunline army, it isn't a bad list. However, if you get into CC, I think you'd be a little hard pressed to win. If you have any Assault Terminators, I would highly recommend putting some TH/SS ones in your list. Give them a Land Raider Redeemer (provided you have one), and now they can even Outflank with the LRR.

Good luck!

Meh...A normal C:SM Captain with a relic blade is better IMHO. Try Khan out and see how it goes though as you have your heart set on outflanking. When your done playing with that try out the C:SM captain with relic blade. Hes 40 points cheaper and still a beast in assault.

Don't give sergeants power swords. They don't have an extra CCW, so only get 2 attacks with them. If your going to beef them give them a PF.
Always throw an attack bike on each squad. Even the HB is 15 points for an ablative wound.
Make your squads smaller. 8 models is a huge footprint on the board. You wont be able to bring all your bolters to bear. Smaller squads mean more special weapons -- which are your real threat.

Stick these in your troop squads.

Formosa wrote:3 Lanspeeder Typhoons pts 270
Split these into 3 separate units. Sure, you give up more KP, but you also wont lose all 3 in 1 round of shooting from a rifleman dread. When I see 3 speeders squadded, I make them my #1 target for the dual TL AC, and watch speeders fall like flies. If you split them up, its much harder, as I have to target a different one each round.

What do these really buy you?

Bike armies have problems with anti-transport. (3 war walkers with 2 SL + Guide will also fudge your day) 3 Typhoons will help to resolve those issues.

The best thing you can do is try some games out. Proxy some models and playtest some to see how it works out.

+1 to this. Smaller squads allow you to bring more MG/PG/Flamer which is what does the heavy lifting with bike armies.

As a side note, I find that 6 works better for me in my squads. That one extra bullet catcher gives me 1 more model to lose before I need to start making saves on my special weapons. There are many ways to do it in this case.

You don't need power weapons on Bikers because they do not get the extra attack. Power fist suits them better so they can assault after it the meltas fail to take out that tank.

Yea, sometimes you need to play with what models you have.

This is the model (not mine, just an image off google) that I use for my marine captain. I modeled the lance to look like a relic blade, and it works well.
