Hiya guys. This is a first time posting photos of my work. I've been trying to advance my painting recently. So I'm trying out new techniques, I'm trying to learn how to wet blend, Im trying to improve my battle damage, and generally trying to push myself a little further.
Multi Melta:
Top Half:
Bottom Half:
Space Marines:
I would deffinitely welcome any C&C or tips people might have to offer reagarding whats working well, what needs more work and so forth. I dont really interact with any hobbyists IRL so forums are my only means of feedback!
Nice one chaps
Kev

I like the battle damage and the dirt on the nozzle of the melta.

Pretty good. Your paint's fairly thick though - thin it down a bit, add a drop of glaze medium (or a bit of washing up liquid to your water) and with very little on your brush (wipe it back across some tissue to get rid of excess) make strokes toward where you want the highlight to be. Once you have a gradient you can smooth it out by brushing across the strokes with a moist brush (no paint).
You can also push the contrast up a bit more to get the edges to pop - looks like you've done a straight blend to snot green from DA green. Try making goblin green your edge target (very fine highlights of that) and see what you think.

Nice work, i like the battle damage on the dread. Alot of DA popping up at the minute No other critique apart from thinning your paints more as has been mentioned. Keep it up!

Thanks for the compliments guys theyre appreciated. But Im especially grateful for the advice! I consider these to be valliant first efforts and in that respect I consider them a success, but I have a long way to go I know! Really looking forward to getting some more work done and improving gradually.
Thanks again lads!

The only thing I really noticed was the Veteran's lens'. The ever-so-handy white dots to add that reflective look are off kilter, and so he looks googly eyed haha. That'd be the first thing I'd touch up, other than that however, they look great!

Haha! Same here. I didn't even notice it until I read that comment. Nice work. Your highlighting is a little hard to see due to lighting but both minis look good.
