I am getting some Space Wolf Rhino plates, A SW Venerable Dread I am gonna use as Bjorn, A Dread Plasma Cannon.
Is there anything I should be wary or know about the forgeworld stuff before I put them together or paint them?

You will need a decent razor saw - dont use clippers on big blocks of resin, the shock can cause the piece to crack somewhere unexpected.

You'll also need a decent sharp knife for removing flash, and general tidying up.

Files and some 600 / 1200 grit sandpapers are always nice to help smooth things off too, especially on the edges of plates etc.

Before assembly wash the parts in slightly soapy water. Rinse well and dry thoroughly. Then handle them as little as possible until you've got your primer on.

The rhino parts should be a doddle. The dreadnought will want pinning, so invest in a pin vice some .75mm bits and some paperclips (and a cheap pair of wire clippers, not your best sprue cutters) and you'll be a happy camper.

wow. So the resin takes a lot more work I see.

Thanks for the Info.

Its not that much more work mate, it just needs to be treated slightly differently to platics and metals. Plus, when using resin FW pieces, people tend to want them as their centrepieces since they dropped a fair bit of coin on them. Because of that people usually want to take a little more care with them too. Winterdynes advice is absolutely spot on though. Don't forget to post pics

Very well I will, I will probably use the plasma cannon on another model but since I plan on always using bjorn with plasma cannon....well who the hell would not since it can come FREE! I might just add it to the model.

I am also thinking of finding some actual "fur" like a light grey/white/black and drapping it over the shoulder of the right "its left" side down to its legs or something.
It would be really cool I think.

What about glue? Normal Plastic Model glue work fine?

You cant use plastic glue on resin mate. So you'll have to use Superglue and pins. Pinning is a simple enough process and really secures the various parts

Also, if you plan on fielding multiple Deads in your army lists, it might be an idea to magnetise the weapons so you can swap and change them maybe?

On a sidenote - should you get any miscast pieces from FW (mind you, I ordered a lot and it has not happened to me yet ... but you hear reports from other people) just call them - they do have an excellent customer support and will replace those bits without any problems.
