Well i have been working on painting my Monoliths, and was at first going for the Codex looking paintjob with the Dark Angels Green drybrush with Goblin Green highlights, but after attempting this, i realized that over the GW primer, or the Privateer Press primer (black) the dark angels green comes out nothing like the picture (much too dark to even register over the black), so i scratched that idea and have been looking around at maybe a new Monolith paint scheme.

Anyways, my warriors currently are a rusted, metal-ish looking color, and i always wanted to add a color to them, but i have issues with colors and this causes quite an issue with anything that is not shades of gray, or black, and trying to match colors, forget it.

My thing now is, i am thinking of overhauling my necrons completely. After looking at this image http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/51216-.html i started thinking that i wanted to break away from the standard terminator looking models, and really try to give my necrons just the most evil, distgusting, foul looking scheme i could. Like really make them something of nightmares, that would scare you in the battlefield.

My problem is i have no clue how to do so, or even where to begin. I browsed around at other armies, and they do not have quite what i am looking for, i mean, i am not looking for old and beat up, though if its called for that is cool, but more of just something you would see from a horror movie.

So i am looking for the master painters/modellers out there to lend a hand, maybe take me under their wing and help me come up with a scheme and/or help me out through the process of creating this army.

Warning: i am a novice at best when it comes to painting/modelling, one that still heavily relies on washes and drybrushing despite people suggesting i get away from both. I am a quick learner, but i also have a hard time seeing the end result when it comes to colors or understanding how two colors work (like blue in a horror movie? really?) unfortunatly i am part of the 8% of males that suffer from color blindness.

Hmm.. scary is hard to pull off on models. I think there are some ghost like necrons here on dakka painting in only black and OSL green.
The egyptian look is popular otherwise but not so very scary.

Well maybe not that many ideas, but at least something to get the ball rolling
