Meh they're only a problem when they're in a LR. Open the land raider & they cease being scary. Unless it's DA DW. They can take a scary amount of TH/SS but throw CML in the squads as well.

Trade rules: lower rep trades ships 1st. - I ship within 2 business days, if it will be longer I will contact you & explain. - I will NOT lie on customs forms, it's a felony, do not ask me to mark sales as "gifts". Free shipping applies to contiguous US states.

So I take it your tactic is to fling them to ground and stomp on them?

You can't really call Terminators bad units. They're not really bad. The one thing they do well is survivability. But in a game riddled with high strength/low ap shots right now that isn't always the best thing to be good at. Once you start switching weapons from powerfist/stormbolter is where they get good.

I think the problem is that too many people buy basic terminators like the ones with the power fists and storm bolters. My theory is that people mainly get the vanilla terminators from the black reach boxed set. I just haven't seen good space marine players use terminators effectively. (maybe I am inexperienced?) They are a well-rounded unit but not worth it when they get shot to pieces deep striking. Im sure the best way to use them is what that kid said and have them in a land raider with assault equipment...

But to reiterate what I said, I have never had a problem dealing with terminators and i've been playing casually since 2007. My plasma gun doesn't care whether you are a terminator or not. Plus they are like 250 points you could get some awesome stuff for that amount of points in an SM army

Anywhere worth being

Terminators are just like any other unit in the game: a problem that needs to be solved.

Some problems are more difficult to solve than others, I.E. Land Raiders when playing Orks, but that's called strategy, and, news flash, 40k is a strategy game.

"Don't put your trust in revolutions. They always come around again. That's why they're called revolutions. People die, and nothing changes."

Your plasma gun DOES care when the terminators are 48" away with two CMLs and tank hunters and are turning your vehicles into burning rubble. It also cares when they're in your face with furious charge and Lightning Claws with rerolls to hit.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, while terminators aren't invincible, they can certainly ruin your day.

I smell a troll, but I'll take the bait.

Standard terminators work better staying at range. They're a very flexible unit. They can fire their stormbolters on the advance, or even on the retreat if the enemy has superior numbers. If you've got LOTS of plasma that you're reaching out to 24" with, the terminators need to have support nearby to add to their firepower. They, and their support, shoot across at what's right in front of them and eliminate it. Everything else should be slightly out of range due to the angle of the shot. Reposition and repeat. They could also be ballsy and deepstrike near the edge of the board, where perhaps only one unit is in range of them. They can also time their landing with an advancing assault or bike squad, so they deepstrike, the fast unit assaults your plasma squad, and the terminators are saved from firepower for that turn. Then they're among you smashing you to bits.

If you send in anything unsupported, it's going to die. They need to learn to use them in conjunction with the rest of their army. Until they do, you'll have a field day kicking their carcasses around.
